Unlike some years the kids seem to be without too much drama. Really happy Mookie stayed and adjusted to his role...I hope you get a ring. They are confident but not jerks about it. A pleasant antitode to Bernie's Drama.

Agreed. It looks like everyone is having fun, with maybe the exception of Rak's grumpy face sometimes.

Easy to root for.

I think Rak is coming to terms with it. Everyone who's getting major PT went through this at some point in their career with the exception of CJ and Triche.

Thanks for completely Jinxing us.

:)

Alot of it is how good of a team you are also. Heck look at MSU last year. Lots of talent, lots of seniority, but they just couldn't put it together confidently. When your good its so much easier to buy into it. Confidence brings good things.

Look at this years team compared to last years.

1.We have three blow by isolation attackers Dion, Kris, and Scoop instead of zero last year.

2.We have Triche and Fair becoming better isolation threats then they were last year. Triche has a new motor. Fair has a better jumper.

3.We have Southerland with another offseason under his belt, and some NCAA experience.

4.We return 5 of our three point shooters. We were a bad three point shooting team that became a ok one as the year went along. We should become a better one this year. Would like to see a stat of our first 10 games shooting the three last year compared to this year.

5. We have some low post scoring. We had 0 last year.

6. We take charges better.

7. Our guard defense is extending much better (very important in the 2-3).
Dion is starting to just rip the ball from the opposition.

The only thing last year had on this year was Rick Jackson. A slower, strong, methodical isolation player. A true PF that could bump and score.

Judging from Raks HS interveiews hes very mentally competitive. Hes going to be a good one in Orange.

5. We have some low post scoring. We had 0 last year.

Not quite sure there, I thought Ricky gave us some pretty good production down there last year... Probably more than we are getting this year

Agreed while Ricky wasn't at AO's level he could score pretty regularly down there if we got him the ball (which we were not good at doing) even if he didn't demand the attention that AO did. Fab, Baye and Rak have really yet to score on post ups against good competition. (a handful at most)

yup . . . the best post up threats this year are Dion and BT when they have a smaller guard on them.

SU has 4 forwards and 2 centers and not a consistent low post threat among them - Dirty hangs on the perimeter and occasionally crashes the boards, Kris starts everything from the outside, CJ, Baye and Rak are all put-backs and dump-offs, Fab hasn't put together any offensive consistency.

I once thought there was potential for a nice high post game from this bunch, but with only two games left in the pre-conference schedule, I doubt we are going to see it this year.

Next thing you know, Scoop will knock up Brandon's mom and Rak and Cooney will get caught gambling on pigeon fighting while Fab challenges Brandon Reese to a duel for insulting his honor.

"Pigeon fighting" Awesome. Straight up awesome.

Agreed, very positive so far. Undefeated and #1 rankings add to that chemistry. The real litmus test will come when the team loses a few games. That is when we will need to see leadership from within.

Last time I checked, those three guys were on the team last year.
