The defense was playing really deep would've been risking an int throwing deep

My biggest gripe every game. We torch our opponents down the field in the 1st quarter and then go away from it completely the rest of the game. They couldn't stop us and we made it easier on them to defend us by throwing stupid screens and quick out routes. I feel like the staff is trying to be balanced between short and long passes as well as running. To me, it is necessary. Give me three deep balls a series until they adjust. Notre Dame didn't start stopping it, we just completely got away from it for no reason.

I counted at least a dozen times AET had single coverage after that. On the dumb bubble screen inside our own 10 on third down he was standing wide open.

Eh you have to create the mismatch then. They didn't have a guy that could come close to covering AET.
