Carter ahead of Brown

Rookie fourth-rounddraftpick Delone Carter has moved ahead of 2009 first-round choice Donald Brown on the depth chart at running back, at least for now.

Coach Jim Caldwell said the depth chart on a Wednesday doesn't necessarily indicate what will be the case by Sunday.

"But as we looked at it at this stage -- now we've got a week to go because practice is included in all of these evaluations -- Delone Carter did a nice job of carryingtheball," the coach said. "He was pretty productive and at this point, that's the way it stands just in terms of what we think of the role he can play within our scheme."
Both players back up starter Joseph Addai.

During the preseason, Carter had 22 carries for 92 yards (4.2 average).

"Bunting said keeping tabs on players is a responsibility that extends to coaches across an athletic department and it’s not limited to football coaches. He said it should be apparent to any college football coach that there are certain players within a program who must be monitored.

“You have to have a target of about 10 to 15 guys you have watch all the time and you know who they are,” Bunting said.

“I still wonder why the Carrier Dome isn’t air-conditioned,” said Bunting,"

Listening to Doug Marrone's weekly press conference is a very relaxing experience. You never get the sense he's irritated at any of the reporters questions. He shows respect for the fourth estate and everything comes out very even. He's a real pro who you can tell loves what he's doing.

Good catch Tom

Good read from Donnie Webb. I wish him well.

HCDM is certainly no Bob Knight when it comes to the press, and that is a good thing.

Yep, that Donnie Webb piece was outstanding. It got a little dusty in here thinking back to that game (I was a junior that year).

I'll never forget the morning of 9/11, when one of my roommates came into my room in our apartment on Euclid, didn't say a word, and just turned on the TV. Unreal day, and that game against Auburn was just incredible. Goose bumps just thinking back on it.
