Tip Off Initial Impressions

Buddy miss. Frankie loses it. Benny inside, nice pass from ST.JG3 pass to Franknfor a dunk.Jesse missed a bunny. Symir miss followed by Benny for a dunk.

benny and JB are the best players so far. Frankie looks much improved. JG3 looking very solid.

Great stuff. We know Buddy will be good so great stuff on JB and Benny. Sounds like a hell of a forward combo we have plus solid at the 5.
 
Both teams generally playing a walk on. None of them look very good. JB fouled. He was often guarded by Buddy but Buddy is out now. JB fast break 2. Continues to dominate.

more walk in’s in now. Benny fall away just won’t fall. Jesse follow dunk just misses. Jesse misses a 10 footer.

First person to say "Great. If Jimmy is our best player..." gets a one week vacation. ;)
 
Owens scores on a follow. Feldman might be the best walk on. Looks okay defensively. Owens bricks his FT. Feldman bricks a 3. Quality of okay mich worse with all the walk ons in. Orange destroying the White team. Up 37-20 at halftime.

Interesting. Huge moment for the kid for sure. One of those things where the whole "this is real" could be setting in as a local kid.

Edward’s bunny miss but he follows for a score. Buddy gets 2 nice steal and pass from ST. Frankie inside for 2.

I missed a good part of the scrimmage keying in updates. Oh well.

The Orange team seemed a lot better on offense. Jimmy was really confident and assertive. JG3 ran the offense well made a lot of good passes and scored when he had an opening. Frankie presented himself well and finished well when he got it down low. Meaning he dunked it. A lot.

Even JBA looked good offensively.

The White team really depended on Buddy, Jesse and Benny. Jesse did not have a good day. Looked a little tentative with the ball and failed to finish a lot. Did not do well trying to dribble drive past Frankie, who held his own. But he got in good position a lot and had a bunch of offensive rebounds.

The Orange team tilted their zone towards Buddy in the first half and he struggled to get open abs get the ball. Thought Symir did not do a good job getting him the ball in positions where he coins score. He did a much better job here in the second half, when Buddy scored a lot of points

Frankielooked much improved. Let Jesse get too many offensive rebounds but he was physical and bodied up well. Jesse did pretty well on defense too but JG3 made sense nice passes to get Frsnk easy dunks.

Thought Benny played well. Probably deferred too much. Made lots of passes inside to Jesse. Mostly scored getting offensive rebounds and putting it back up. He can dribble, pass and shoot and I rarely saw him force anything. That is rare for a frosh.

JB played a smart game. Was in the right place a lot. Posted up Buddy when he found him getting covered by little bro one time down.

Symir seemed a bit tentative and unsure in the first half. Thought he was much better in the second half but it isn’t good when a walk on picks your pocket and gets a lay up.

It will be interesting to see how Cole fits into things. Jimmy mostly played on the wing but did a little work at the high post. Benny worked the most for the high post.

There are some interesting pieces. Feel confident this team is going to score a lot of points.

Jesse definitely seems like a kid that just has to settle into the game. Maybe a little amped up? Just basing on the analysis. The aggressiveness rebounding the ball is a nice thing to hear. Defense and rebounding are his top two priorities anywise and offense is the bonus.

Love hearing JG3 dropping dimes.

Agree with most of this. While Jimmy was obviously great I thought Girard was even better. If he can play like he did in the Scrimmage all year we will be a good team.

Benny is a great athlete and can handle the ball, but I’m not sure we want or need him shooting outside of 15 feet. His shot has no arc whatsoever. Will be interesting to see how we use him.
