Today is Giving Day at SU

Good to see the ladies get 240k. Last year they got 6k. FLJ speaking up about the uconn matchups was great. Even my mom said something about that.

We always knew Gerry was going to get the financial support. That’s why Hop was an option early on. Guys like Schertz would have had to win early and often to get people to donate. Good to see for both programs !

Just out of curiosity how come gmac is able to get that much more money than Schertz would be able to get?

My name I use is RCDick.. I use to live in Bville Till 1998 and was a Football and Basketball Season ticket holder for many years. I moved to Florida when I retired and Still watch SU Sports on TV. My donation of 25.00 unfortunately is all I can afford since I'm living on SS but if something comes up I will increase it down the road...Go Orange !

Your $25 is $25 they didn't have yesterday. And those $25 add up. Thank you for doing what you can.

And people from cuse couldn’t pick Schertz out of a lineup of 1
When I said my family and friends (all Cuse fans) didn't even know St Louis had a basketball program, people here were like that's not cool, how do they not know good basketball coaches and programs at the midmajor level ha. yea they don't care

Nostalgia is a drug unlike any other in mankind

People here LOVE Gerry

90% of our fanbase has no clue who Josh Schertz is

Simple
Even those of us that knew of him were like warm, at least I was. Gerry has to "prove it" but I would not bet against him. Let's get back to being relevant then being feared and hated.

Syracuse Giving Day 2026 wrapped up yesterday—and the Orange community made history!
The final numbers are still being tallied, but here’s what the Orange Community did together yesterday:

  • More than doubled our donor goal of 4,444, and the most in Giving Day history
  • $3,932,505 raisedthe first time Syracuse Giving Day has ever surpassed $3 million
  • $62,257 raised for student organizations
  • Donors from all 50 states and 17 countries
A special moment: Syracuse Men’s Basketball saw some of the most remarkable donor energy of the entire day, with 2,196 donors rallying behind the program—more than any other sport. It’s a reflection of the excitement surrounding Syracuse Athletics right now, and a sign of what this community is ready to get behind.

This kind of result doesn’t happen without an entire community behind it. It’s a reflection of the momentum and energy building at Syracuse right now. Syracuse Giving Day is one moment—but the need it represents doesn’t end when the day does. If there’s an area of Syracuse you care about, there’s still a way to make a difference at giving.syr.edu.
