Tonight is the Most Important Game of Dino's Tenure

If we win BC and the bowl game, this was a very successful season. Extremely weird way to get to 8-5, but possibly the best way? We built up hype and got to feel like we were good and dream of big things when we were 6-0, and got back to back sellouts at the Dome. Would’ve never happened if we just won 2 then lost, then won 2 more, then lost. We faltered against the hardest part of the schedule when everybody got hurt, but then righted the ship at the end and finished strong.

If we split BC/bowl game - eh. It’s basically 2013. 2010. A necessary winning season and bowl appearance, but nothing that really moves the needle. It’s more of a “avoided the disaster of a 4th straight losing season” feeling.

If we lose the last 2 and finish 6-7, with a 7 game losing streak - we basically look like the worst bowl team of all time and the poster child for why there’s way too many bowls. But at least we get an extra month of practice for the returners….and the pressure is on for a legit good season next year.

I'm not being a Dino apologist but we constantly get the short end of the stick with more road games in the back half of the season especially in November I am thinking because the JMA is a multiuse facility. There is no excuse to not beating BC next week though
2016- we had 3 home, 3 away, went 2-4
2017- we also had 3 home, 3 away, went 1-5
2018- same again, 3 home, 3 away. Went 5-1 that year
2019- look at this, 3 home, 3 away, went 2-4
2020, the horror year- still had 3 home, 3 away, went 0-6
2021- another year of 3 and 3, went 2-4
2022- this year will be the first year we play 2 home, 4 away the last 6, and that was because we had 5 of the first 6 games at home. We are currently 0-5.

So no, it’s not because “we get the short end of the stick” when it comes to the end of the season. The home and away have been balanced all the way up to this year. Dino just isn’t a good coach who can win late in the year

You don’t all of a sudden become a bad coach half way through the season. If he’s average in the beginning he’s average at the end.

The only variable that seems to change is injuries. And if we suffer more, the question is why? I get we’re never going to have depth like other teams but we do seem to suffer more injuries. We need to look into the why.

These peer schools seem to still do good at the end of the year. They can make bowls every year. With modern scheduling you have to just go 3-5 normally in conference. If you can’t do that 4 out of 5 years as a P5 school then you need to find a new coach

“We’ve struggled for the past month, so we are going to change things up.

Let’s try playing without Bergeron and Mikel Jones and Derek McDonald (in the second half) and see if that helps.

While we’re at it, let’s play without Ellis and Bleich too.”

Yeah but dazzler is a meathead and we’re the new fast. Plus it’s impossible to recruit at SU but Boston has unlimited D1 players all around them…..
It’s not impossible to recruit at Cuse and Addazio used to take recruits from our area and make them into good players. We need to get the best from our natural recruiting area and fill in with players from Florida, SC, Georgia and other areas. We also need to get more of our legacy recruits! Involve our football alums in the program! Winning makes a difference! Let’s hope we beat BC!

What injuries have done to this team is criminal.
