Tony White to Nebraska

Apparently you missed the “guess” part when you replied. He also wasn’t making 1+ here from what I’ve heard. So I think my number is pretty close.
Perhaps, 2 years ago he was making 700K+ total so I assumed his good results paired with (I’m sure) numerous suitors would’ve probably had him meet anaes number

I do agree with other people in this thread I am very interested in seeing how the 3x3x5 working in that league against a bunch of power running teams.

Sometime being a fan feels like.

I’ll get over it, though.

Emily Leiker had an article yesterday regarding the roster where she said, "With the potential for Caleb Okechukwu to come back for another season, too." I thought that was an odd description. Hoping he stays.

Hes a huge loss Dasher. The dominos are going to be ugly
I guess Tony, besides the assumed big raise in pay, must thrive on challenges.

Nebraska needs help - their best record in the past eight years has been 9-4. This year as you can see 4-8, the year previous 3-9, 3-5, 5-7, 4-8, 4-8.

He has his work cut out for him. Matt Rhule brought him into a mess. (edit)

I hope him and Rhule get more then 3 years to fix the giant mess

true, but it is a continuation of the status quo, with our status being on or towards the bottom looking up.

No one, and I mean no one says it can't be done to try and compete with the upper echelon, just that it won't be done. Some in the know say it's possible (to come up with funds to compete), if we're not gonna do it, fine, ok or if we just can't do it, bummer but cool there too, state as such and make the subsequent moves. It takes money to make money right, it takes $ to compete to get up towards the top of the college football world right? Do it if you can, state so if you cannot. Enough already.

You know this but white was the 5th highest paid SU employee. Believe right around $800k. More than Wildhack. We haven’t been cheap with coaches

Look, if you have talented people, you have to constantly be prepared for the reality that other people are going to want your talented people. All you can do is make the strongest case you can for why they should stay, but if they move on, congratulate them for earning a great opportunity, wish them well, and go steal someone else's talented people.

And I bet SU, based on good sources, was willing to match higher up to 1mil but im sure nebraska outbid.

We have not been cutting corners financially with the staff

It's where many of the players interact and stay active on. Whether you hate or love it it's direct access to a SA.
SAs who like all other kids thrive on attention.

I think college football at this point is series of one year situations. Everything is fluid no matter if a player is a Soph or Frosh or whatever.

We need to be cognizant of the fact everything is in play coaches etc.

I will lose zero sleep because of we will lose and then gain. Gotta be net positive ultimately

Or--it's an overreaction on your part.

I posted a fact- just look at the responses in the twitter thread. How is stating fact an over reaction? I think the over reaction is your response bud.

This is the most trash reply I’ve seen. You’re celebrating him leaving your almamater for the same position at another school? I could see if TW was going to Nebraska as a head coach but a lateral move? Seems like a “Good luck” would be sufficient…

It is one thing if players want to leave to be with Coach White. It's another if Coach White is recruiting kids at Syracuse to go with him to Nebraska. That wouldn't be right. Nor would it be forgotten.

He has had a lot of success here with his guys and now goes somewhere where they haven't had so much. I would definitely be worried that looking to get some of his guys to follow is a real possibility. Which would really suck.

Yep , that’s the game. It bites, but that’s it.
