i could understand all this next week if we made the final 4, thats a major thing. but i dont think a sweet 16 appearance warrants jb going on every radio show this week, a couple of times with buddy, and everyone kissing their asses about what a great story it is and how awesome buddy is. i dont know, i wish they just layed low this week, let buddy focus on houston and not talk to dan patrick and stephen a smith about how great hes playing. hes been an overnite media sensation this week, i hope it doesnt mess up him up mentally.

Who cares. If Buddy goes 0-15 next game and Jim plays 4 guys the entire game it had nothing to do with talking to talking heads a few times during the week.

if buddy plays bad i think all the media stuff this week could be a factor. thinking now hes gotta live up to all the hype, putting more pressure on himself.

I mean they are in the bubble 24/7 . These interviews take 15 minutes at most. When Buddy is done he probably goes back to his room to watch Netflix. It’s not like it’s taking away from practice time

gotta do something to pass the extra time between games

The team is stuck in their rooms.
It’s not like their are able to go out and do much stuff.
Buddy deserves the press after his performance.
It’s not going to affect the team.

We won the first 4 team tournament.
We have another 4 team tournament this weekend.

Having a busy schedule to work around your workouts can be beneficial. Get all that out of the way and the focus and get to work mindset is accelerated. It makes just playing itself even that more enjoyable.

Buddy could go 0-20 or he could go 12 for 16 Either way, the tv interviews will have nothing to do with it. It hasn't taken up any practice time. And, it is also great for the school and in the end, it will help a bit in recruiting as we are being talked about.

I wouldn't be concerned. The 2nd half of the West Virginia game showed Buddy's mental fortitude. Coming off round 1 where he was scorching, he was ice cold after hitting his first shot in the first half. To be able to regroup and have the 2nd half he had showed me he's got the mental game to go with his physical abilities.

It's called an over-correction, like some are doing on this board.

If anything id be scared to play Buddy right now. Shooters need confidence and his is higher then its ever been. One of the best players in the tournament getting national exposure from pretty much every media outlet as well as trending on social media. Hes now legitimately being talked about as a NBA prospect...Buddy is dangerous!

Recruiters gotta recruit... Buddy is laying the groundwork for our stellar recruiting class of 2031 right now.

It's only what 10 minutes out of a 24 hour day? Doesn't bug me at all.

In a normal season, yes I think this is a distraction as they could be taking time for other things like practice or lifting. When they are cooped up and its being done during "down time" I dont have issues with it. What I do have concern is the "hype" and the amount of interviews being done. Flying under the radar in March is Syracuse's mo.

Huh?
What I mean by that is that some posters who have been a bit critical of Boeheim this year are getting slammed in a few threads by those who now think Boeheim was right with everything he did all year. Can't we have it sort of in the middle? He was never all wrong, but he was also not all right with the decisions he made this year.

What a great representation Buddy is of our school. Kid’s just happy to be here.

Makes me crack up laughing watching the old Dion Waiters march interviews, which I loved too. Best guard in the tournament!!

just enjoying this ride and happy March matters again and Cuse is dangerous.

Buddy said, himself, that his shooting now is all "muscle memory." He's put up so many shots from all over the floor that he's not even thinking about the shots he's taking now, when he's in The Zone.

If you look at the shots he's been making lately, he is no longer 'thinking' his shots. It's like he's entered the Steph Curry realm of shooting.

That's why I don't think he's gonna have a bad shooting night the rest of the season. They can definitely slow him down by doubling him, but he's ready for it and will promptly get the ball to Marek.

We've got this...

I think it's great. Sometimes JB passes on opportunities to promote the program (when we have a player in the green room at the NBA draft, for example) so the fact that he's been everywhere is a good thing. And like others have said, it's not like he has a lot more to do stuck in a hotel room. Heck, being stuck is probably working in our favor here, it's easy for him to hop on a call or whatever.
