Top 12 Syracuse basketball players of all time

I've watched all those games. I'm not saying I don't like Seikaly. He had like 20 some points against UNC and played out of his mind. He also had Coleman and Sherman on the team. He was the 3rd best player. I love both players but I think Etan is really underrated and under appreciated. He had a backcourt of Jason Hart and Allen Griffin for gods sake. I hate these threads because I love every kid that ever played at Syracuse. I'm less criticizing Rony as I am praising Etan if that makes sense.
rony was 100 times a better offensive player. Defensively etan was better

Probably every game he played. Wallace was a lot better. His senior season is without doubt the best season any SU player has had in the past 40 years with possible exception of Anthony
Pass me some of what you are smoking.... gotta be good

Kohls would hold every offensive scoring record by a huge margin if they had the 3 point shot when he played, dude would pull up from 25 and rain all day

Kristoff Ongenaet for taking that fall and getting back up. One of the most important transfers ever.

Raffael Addison was the best shooter in SU history. Unfortunately there was o 3 point line then.

Again you must be young. Your list could include players like Louis Orr, Dennis Duval, Dale shakelford and Eric Santifer
mike lee, gregg kohls

Except for that game he fouled out in the 1st Half.

That was Georgetown, I think. It was his freshman year. Fouled out in 5 minutes. Was that the game at the Garden, where McNabb had the great game?

He was the star of our first FF team. He average over 22 & 12 that season & I believe he averaged over 17 & 11 for his career.

To put in perspective, that first FF team was probably more of a long shot to make the FF than was this season's team.

That team only went about 4 deep. We had Hackett, another solid starting forward in Chris Sease, and two small, but very talented jitterbug guards in Williams and Lee who could really shoot.

The problem was at center where we had a space eater in Earnie Siebert who made Craig Forth look lie a sleek olympic sprinter. I liked Earnie but his conditioning and skills were simply not of a FF caliber.

I don't re-call much about any bench players from that team.
Oldtimer here, don't forget mark wadach, and mike lee, Bishop Ludden products I think, two 6'3" forwards. Roys Runts

1 DC

2 Carmelo Anthony

3 Pearl Washington

4 Dave Bing

5 John Wallace

6 Sherman Douglas

7 Billy Owens

8 Lawrence Moten

9 Hakim Warrick

10 Rony Seikaly

11 GMac/Gbinije/CJ Fair/Stevie/Addison/Alexis

As said above, Bing is our "Ruth," but i didn't see him play until he was a pro, and i'm kinda discounting the competition in his era.
DC was everything. 4 years. Bad Mofo. Alpha. Skills at every turn. Carmelo was the same, but for only one year. Pearl and Carmelo could probably be switched, but i'll take the lone NC and the sports center.

All Time

1. Coleman - Generational talent. Immediate impact from the moment he stepped on the court as a freshman. Considered "disappointing pro" though he averaged 16.5 and 9 (which proves what kind of player he actually was).
2. Pearl - Put Cuse on the map nationally. Impact on Big East and SU can't be overstated.
3. Douglas - Finished career as NCAA all-time assist leader and all time SU scoring leader.
4. Anthony - Hardware; tourney MOP as a freshman.
5. Bing - Before my time, but HOF carries signifcant weight.
6. Owens - No clue how anyone can dog him. One of most complete players in Syracuse history. 13/7/3 as a freshman with team that included Douglas, Thompson and Coleman. All-American and Big East POY as a junior with 23/11.6/3.3 and shot close to 40% from deep. Baller.
7. Seikaly - Developed from raw project to dominant big man. Owned Duane Schintzius and JR Reid ni '87 tournament with two huge (and crucial) performances. Finished career as 2nd all time rebounder and 4th leading scorer for the Orange.
8. Wallace - Huge commit when Syracuse was coming off of NCAA probation. Carried Cuse to 1997 NCAA finals. Pass to Cippola and game winner against UGA serve as two all time iconic Cuse moments. 22 and 9 as a senior ranks as one of best single years for player in Cuse history. "Starred" as Lonnie alongside former Cuse great, Jim Brown, in Spike Lee's immortal "He Got Game."
9. GMac - Six 3s in first half of National Champ game gave Cuse big breathing room to work with. Owned NYC in 2006 with greatest BE Title run in history (FOH with Kemba Walker). Two Time BE First Team player. Underrated. Onions.
10. Moten - Can't leave off all time BE Scoring Leader.

not even close. Watch the 87 ncaa tournament highlights,
And look at who Rony was playing against: Ewing, Wennington, Charles Smith, Ed Pinkney. Also squared off against David Robinson, John Salley, J.R. Reid, Dwayne Schintzius along the way. Etan did not face that calibur of opposing center.
Did UConn field a Men's team back then?
