honestly beside made being top 3 seeds there isn’t gonna be a easy first round game ither way. If any path i’d say i like for cuse (tho none be fun) prob say be nice if can jump duke and play gtown then princeton. Either way cuse gonna have to play like they just did from here on out maby even little better if wanna make run.

PSU is the 4 seed. If not for the penalty call that led to a crazy last 4 min comeback, the only top win they would have on the Resume would be what? Colgate at 9-8?

They could switch Princeton and PedState. Then switch Harvard and Georgetown. This spreads out the conferences as much as possible, meaning conference foes should not meet any sooner than is necessary, in this year's bracket, the Final Four.

With all games today played except Georgetown/Nova and MD/OSU, SU has risen to 6 in the RPI (SOS=2).

We stand at 0-3 vs. top 5, 2-1 vs. 6-10, 4-1 vs. 11-20, and 4-0 vs. 21+. 6-5 vs. top 20. Towson moved to 20, which gives us one more 11-20 win

Duke is 5 in the RPI. I'll update later.

Yeah so if they win tomorrow then it seems they will certainly get a home game but lose and I don't know but is it possible only one ACC school may get a home game?

Personally, I think we get a home game regardless. We would lose to a top 5 team, which would probably mean we stay at 6, maybe fall to 7. Not enough teams could move ahead of us to bump us out of the 8th spot, IMO. OSU could jump us (they are currently 7) if they beat MD.

now that we've seemingly clinched hoping we don't see an intensity letdown against dook.

In determining seeds & home games I also wonder how much the committee takes into account Strength of Schedule (SOS). We have the #2 SOS. Md is #1.

Honestly if they play how they did vs ND maby even little better n lack of the stupid penalties. Don’t think matters where they land. But all depends what team decides to show up. Mean don’t think there is really a first round matchup i love besides if had 1,2 or 3 seed of course. Which isn’t gonna happen. But even playing harvard or gtown prob won’t be easy of guys don’t show up to play. But also worst games mcCool has had was vs harvard and cornell. Grant only thing we def have over harvard would be at the X.

Cuse just has to play their best lacrosse every single game now. As said what they should do is try to win every single individual quarter. Games don’t end or get won in first half. But if make sure you score more then other team each qtr that will surely lead ya to win. Hope they come out with same energy did vs ND.

Also i take it the cornell win for psu is why they’re so high at 4? Not saying they’re not good team but their resume isn’t that great. Cornell game is their only 1-10 win believe. Their next best win is mich, hopkins , colgate . Tho even if cuse wins toma don’t see them jumping up more then to 6th seed. Tho think they would ultimately have better resume then psu besides not having top 5 win. Would have 3 more top 10 wins to psu zero.

I think by far the most preferable path would be first to beat Duke, then get Dukes projected draw of Georgetown then PSU. That draw, vs potentially Harvard then Cornell, is night and day as far as difficulty.

Penn state is one lucky break vs Cornell from being a bubble (out) team. Best win would be #15 Michigan.

Amazingly we have not played Penn State in almost 40 years (and are 45-11 all time). I would love that matchup.

However, if any team does not get seeded according to RPI I think it’s PSU.

I do not see a scenario where they are seeded ahead of Princeton, Cornell, Ohio State, Maryland, and Syracuse (if we beat Duke). I think they would be seeded #6 at best even if their RPI still says they are #4

if we beat Duke, I think we would be headed for a 4/5 game versus Maryland

Would Maryland drop to 4? Their resume is very good, if OSU enters the top 5 RPI, they would have three top 5 wins (though only if PSU stays in). Their SOS is 1. They beat Princeton … I kind of wonder if Cornell wins tomorrow they only drop to the second seed.

Given geography, I wonder if Syracuse is set to play Harvard or BU/Colgate and that’s it. I/E beat Duke and play patriot league winner, lose, host Harvard again. I guess Georgetown is still a bus drive away so I might be wrong.

I think the top seeds will look something like this if Cornell beats Princeton …

1. Cornell
2. Maryland
3. Princeton
4. Ohio State
5. ACC winner
6. Penn State
7. ACC loser

?

I forsee 2 scenarios. If Cuse beats Duke I think there's a pretty decent chance their Gettting Gate or BU especially if Gate wins. If SU loses to Duke I fully expect SU to be the 8th seed vs Army. Committee won't be able to resist the matchup.

i'd.love to see richmond in the 8 hole and maybe earning a rematch with the big red.

Ohio State‘s résumé over the last nine games has been stellar, but they suffer from a weak schedule before that. Maybe it’s not enough to move them past Maryland. Looking at their strength of schedule, you are probably right.

I would have the Cornell Princeton winner number one, and after that, I think it’s very tough to predict two through four, unless of course they go strictly RPI. Then 5,6, and 7 seem to be pretty much set in stone.

The OSU win knocked SU to 7 and Duke to 6. Our SOS is now 3 (JHU!!! is now 2 because...math). Our line is now 0-2 vs. top 5, 2-2 vs. 6-10, 4-1 vs. 11-20, and 4-0 vs. 21+. 6-5 vs. top 20.

Win today and we switch places with Duke. Not sure we can overtake OSU. Lose, and given Duke's RPI, we probably fall behind Richmond for the 8 spot.

I think we get a home game regardless, but who we would play is anyone's guess. I don't agree with Mark.
Army is cooked. I can't see them making the field. If they do, how does the committee make a coherent argument for leaving Team X out?

LGO!!!

Syracuse could very well be playing for a first-round home game when it faces Duke on Sunday. If the Orange do get bumped into an unseeded slot, a trip to Penn State could very well be in the offing.
