The best thing fans can do is buy Tucker's jersey number 34 in the future. Don't buy anything with the number 44. It's meaningless as a number to anyone outside of local fans.Also. It's worth remembering that it isn't famous because Jim Brown wore the number. It became famous as it was handed down from great back to great back.
By *not* handing it to the next great back, it's effectively over as a meaningful tradition.
What significant dollars did the program loose outside of Tucker maybe getting more Jersey sales?Nice job Syracuse. Another great example where you maximized an opportunity to bring attention and dollars to this program. Ship has now sailed and you have nothing to show for it.
Are we still listening to Floyd Little’s widow though?Hopefully this puts an end to it, he is going to shatter all of their records and go down as the best RB in Cuse history. I have no idea what he’ll do in the NFL, but if we’re looking at just CFB stats, he’s the guy. We’re witnessing history.
Glad we won’t have to listen to George Floyd’s widow about this any longer.
It would’ve brought attention to this program. It would’ve escalated sales of memorabilia that everyone (University, Tucker, likely even families the green lighted decision) would have profited off of. It might’ve even given this program a temporary jolt of momentum that it hasn’t had or deserved in 20+ years. What significant dollars did the program loose outside of Tucker maybe getting more Jersey sales?
I doubt the money would have been significant though. It would’ve brought attention to this program. Look at how BC has effectively honored (and profited) from the red bandana game each and every year. They took full advantage of that and will do so for the next 100 years.
