Tucker on 44

Everything Tuck has done since coming here has been wise; keep his head down and play the right way, be respectful, have a fun social media presence, and now he has made a wise move for his NIL branding by having a consistent number.

There’s no real advantage for him to go into the portal, that would devastate me but I’m not worried about it. He’s the big dog here on an ACC team. After next season he goes pro most likely. What’s he gonna do, go chase a NY6 bowl?

Honestly, if Sean Tucker doesn't wear #44, I'm done with it having any special meaning for me personally. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another number now. Give it to Mrs. Little's walk-on grandson, I couldn't care less.
This was also a chance to have 44 mean something to younger fans. I've been a diehard 'Cuse fan my entire life and its meaningless to me.

Tucker deserved it

So what is the greatest in your estimation; being on winning teams, playing in NY6 bowls, tearing it up in the NFL? I clearly stated in my post I was specifically referring to CFB stats specifically. Maybe it wouldn’t have been “the least smartest thing” you’ve ever read if you actually applied basic reading comprehension.
Winning the Heisman is a good start. FYI for your reading comprehension...that has nothing to do with the NFL. You should look it up if you are unfamiliar with it.

“Personally, I mean, with all the success and everything that I have with my number, I’m sticking more toward keeping my number and just creating my own legacy,” Tucker said during a Thursday appearance on the Gamlich & Mac Lain podcast with former Clemson women’s basketball player Kelly Gramlich & former Clemson football player Eric Mac Lain. “But I definitely respect the legacy before me with 44 and everything. I’m kind of big on not switching my number, just keeping my same number that I started out with until I finish.”

Why do you expect this?
We hear things like this and I have to ask, has anyone heard him say anything like that? Or, is it that we are just so accustomed to losing that we expect bad things to happen. I suspect it is that. Now, to be sure, bad things do seem to happen to us. But that doesn't mean bad things are always going to happen to us. This is one of the reasons that I keep writing about the kids that left the hoop program. Not because I wish that they do poorly. I don't. But that we don't know what we don't know. Even though some here think they do. Woody can't get on the floor for Okie st right now. Kadary, the Hall was better when he wasn't on the floor the other night. There were posters that were aghast that Tommy D was replaced. None were the end of the world.

Yeah it has a lot to do with how good your team is that surrounds you and whether you’re an upper classmen or not. Got anything else?

It’s going to be pretty funny if at the end of next season, SU is pleading with him to wear #44 for his last game (hopefully a bowl), and he strings them along.

Nah! Your knowledge is obviously biased to recent history because quite a few Heismans have been won by players on bad teams. I don't have time or desire to educate you.

Because recent history isn’t applicable to the present time, right? Please stop quarreling with me, it’s getting weird.

Wasn't ND like 2-9 when Paul H won the Heisman?

This is like the opposite of what he said at the beginning of the year lol

I am curious about what criteria would you use to name someone the best ever. Most yards rushing? Most TD's? So many things go in to those numbers. Does someone get a lot of yards after the game is one sided and the other team has a second team in there? I think Tucker is a great back. But we have had a lot of great backs and I suspect that bias of seeing him play vs not seeing others play is a factor here. Throw in that we (I hope) have two more years where God knows that this kid might do over the next two years. Especially if we can get some type of passing game to take the pressure off the running game.

Doesn't mean that much. Smart people change their minds about things all the time. Now, maybe he was put off by the school. Shame if that is true. Or maybe he thinks he will get more dough from 34 jersey sales. We don't know.

Well, he's not gonna say...

"Listen, I'm waiting til the end of the season, but then I'm entering the portal. Obviously, I don't want that jersey. I will be somewhere else next year."
