Well the first lesson is - If you're the AD at the very christian Liberty University, Don't hire a coach who was fired at his last head coaching gig for setting up "dates" with escorts with his company phone...

Why? Christianity is all about second chances and forgiveness. If he hasn’t cleaned up his act then it clearly is a move destined to blow up in their faces, but if he has, I have zero issue with it.

So if two consenting adult students at Liberty want to have a "private interaction alone" they are in violation of the "Liberty Way." But if a man repeatedly engages with an escort service while married with children, Liberty will welcome them aboard with a few million dollars and to be the leader of 80 young men.

You probably don't understand it correctly. I think there are elements of Christian forgiveness, grace and redemption at work here. And no, Hugh Freeze hasn't redeemed himself. And no, that behavior won't be tolerated by his new employer.

Hugh Freeze is not a name I am even familiar with.

He was the coach at Ole Miss. He was fired for calling escort services on his state-issued cell phone and Ole Miss was on the verge of being/actually have been hit with recruiting violations under his regime.

Truth? This could be a 2nd chance, he's learned and made his peace with his God, Liberty could believe he's 100% a good Christian role model, etc.

it could be all about winning football games, no matter what - rule breaking coach gets the job *because* he's good at breaking rules with a smile and a prayer.

AND we have no way of knowing which one it is because they'd say and act the same way in either scenario.

Every time I hear about Hugh Freeze I think of the inept, goofball Coach Cotton from The Blind Side. For those that don’t know, Freeze was Michael Oher’s high school coach in real life. He managed to parlay that stint into his college coaching gigs.
