TV Teddy Valentine

TV Ted, Tim Higgins, Jim Burr and nowadays Brian O'Connell are becoming the worst refs of alltime. Michael Stephens and Karl Hess are awful as well.

How 'bout Tony Greene?

Froggy Paparo and Larry Lembo can be added to the fraternity of crappy refs.

Teddy Valentine is awful. Right now I still think I hate Michael Stephens the most. He's horrendous.

That being said, anyone else think the small conference games are officiated better?

That MSU/MD game was pretty awful - thought MD got hosed a bit (and I was rooting for MSU). Otherwise, watching some of the smaller conferences, the officiated seems okay.

I think they usually are. I was noticing how awful the officiating was in the Sun Belt game and I was surprised. I didn't even realize it was Valentine though until he called the three technicals - then everyone knew he was there.

And, it's TEDDY time!

He just ran in from half-court to make dramatic goaltending call. Which seemed odd because there was nothing even close to a goaltending going on (unless touching the net is now an auto-goaltend in the Sun Belt Conference).

Then they did the replay, and as they were going to break the one announcer just muttered, "and that was interesting."

Now they're saying the touching of the net was the call...but nobody pulled it, or moved the rim, or anything close to that. Just touched it while going for the intial block. Ted from half-court definitely had the best angle.

TV Teddy strikes again. Calls goaltend from half court on a ball no one touched Even the announcers are in disbelief. But it was the most dramatic, animated, larger-than-life goaltend call anyone has ever seen.

lol...it was fantastic the way he ran in from half-court to make the call.

These two teams are tremendously bad on offense.

The guy on Ga. Southern just waited for the defender to come over so he could block his shot - ur alone under the rim, go up with it quickly! This is why it's 32-32 with 5:30 left...

Georgia state is usually pretty good on offense. They scored 44 in the first half alone yesterday. But they are not hitting it today.

The timeout while falling out of bounds - granted!

Uhhhh, huh?

I would NOT be happy if I was Georgia State.

What? Did Georgia Southern just shoot a 40+ foot three with 5 seconds left for no reason?

Weird ending.

lol...and now the coach and his son injured each other celebrating? I missed that.

Did that really happen?

Yes it sure happened but just the coach was injured in the celebration. That's good news for them. The son is their best player - dad can still coach hurt.

Looks like he's okay. If Georgia State gets Ryan Harrow (formerly UK) back they could make some noise. Hunter's a first round pick, plus Kevin Ware and Ryan Harrow = not a typical mid-major. Big if though - he didn't look walking around good today.
