We all know that Trevor is all too often the lightning rod for criticism and there is some truth to the fact his shooting has left a lot to be desired for a good period of time now...BUT

the kid had one hell of an effort in the Charlotte game yesterday and he deserves some props! Whether his shot is falling or not I will say that I've not seen anyone play harder than he does and I've been following this program since before Jimmy B took over. He is a winner and the intensity and leadership he brings to this years edition of the Orange is significant. I think the addition of more shooters on this years team is going to enable him to flourish and expand the role he plays on the team and that was fully in evidence to anyone who watched the Charlotte game.

I've been a detractor, but I've had to eat crow these last two games. Seems he is driving to the hoop more and, if not finishing, he's drawing fouls. was in trouble at the end of today's game. We did a nice job of pushing the ball inside. He and Gbinje are certainly showing their senior leadership. I think we make some noise this year.

Reminder though: Cooney is always all-world in the November tournaments. I think he wears down as the year progresses, but maybe with the constitution of this year's team, he will not have to exert quite as much effort throughout and will be more like this in February.

I hope you are correct. It might take shooting pressure off his back, but I am afraid JB plays him 35+ through the year. Joseph and Howard would have to improve their game and eat into his minutes. I hope they can...if they do we would be a better team.

With the new rules and enforcement, the best strategy is to attack the rim. We fouled them out and forced them to back off. Having players that can both stretch the D and drive is a great benefit. UCon is big-up-front. We now know a whole lot more about this team. We are thin but we have potential to go deep at the dance. What a relief to feel good about the team after the drought, and stream of bad news, that seemed like it lasted forever. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
