Ennis comes in at #8 on Seth Greenberg's list of Matchup Nightmares in college hoops:
8. Tyler Ennis, G, Syracuse Orange
Ennis is the next in a long line of elite Syracuse point guards. Although some would argue his numbers are not elite, his impact is. He is the only true Orange point guard and must shoulder a majority of the ballhandling responsibilities. The thing that makes Ennis unique is that he plays with pace, poise and purpose. He is an excellent decision-maker who rarely turns the ball over. Ennis’ assist-to-turnover ratio is 5-to-1.
The freshman sees plays develop and reads all five defenders. Ennis picks his spot as a scorer and has shown the ability to knock down the 3-point shot (42.9 percent). He has acclimated to playing the top of Syracuse's famed 2-3 zone. He distorts passing lanes, gets deflections and has excellent anticipation.
