UB new locker room unveiled

I am not a fan. It looks like someone mixed a bowling alley and an arcade room together. The mix of all that dark with TVs above the lockers just doesn’t work. Way too dark. All your focus goes to the TVs above the lockers. What was the designer thinking?

It is a locker room. The focus should be on that. That said, getting a barber shop in a locker room is nice, provided they are going to have a barber there full time to give the kids hair cuts. Pretty sure it will sit there empty, 99.9% of the time. Why not use that space to give the players something useful?

When Rutgers drops its football program, UB will be well positioned to take their place as the new last place team in the B1G East.

Locksley is determined to compete for that spot

Not with the Bills in town

I hear ya about the Bill's, but as impressive as their locker room is, they need a new stadium with some character. Something that seats 30kish and enhances the environment and experience. They are in a town with great fb fans, but the current facility is outdated and the track just kills it. Given some funding, they could be a sleeping giant. Their recruiting has been pretty amazing given that horrible stadium.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking Buffalonians are normal people. The scent of a potential winning act in town will attract the mafia and sabres fans. These people crave W’s and something to be proud of, outside of their beer suckdown competency, like fish need water.

if the bulls build, and maintain, a winning product in the MAC they’ll gain a following. It wont be a Carrier Dome 45,000. More like a consistent 22-25,000 and maybe a better tailgate scene for adults

That is what I was thinking...mid 20s would be their highwater goal. I read CousCous post being more optimistic.

It is too bad they don't have a stadium like Akron's. Perfect MACtion size and aesthetically pleasing.

I have no problem playing UB...gotta be a 2 for 1.

It'll take more winning for UB to draw a bigger fanbase, and even then Leipold could get snatched by a P5 program then they have to strike gold again with another coaching hire.

It's easier for UB fans/alumni to support the hoops program since they've shown they can be a top 25 program as we saw a couple years ago.

Correct, Bills Stadium is too far from campus. Maybe 5-10,000 would go, maybe. If it’s perfect weather.

UB has a long way to go in developing a culture for football, or any sports, before they routinely pull in impressive crowds. It’s a mistake having the field on North Campus as opposed to South imo too.

It's actually pretty fun driving by the stadium on Millersport and seeing it up close. But I agree that stadium isn't in a good location. It would prolly be better for the whole area for the stadium to be closer to downtown.

Wait until they knock off a sizable P5 team, which they can and will. Then you'll see some big growth in the bandwagon.

You can say that again, and again, and again, and again... ;)

So, they built a locker room to attract teens and early 20 something not 40 to 60 year olds.

Shocker that you wouldn't like it.

I don’t have a problem with modern looking locker rooms. I like the nice ones that I linked.

This was a botched effort. I do agree they look better than our locker rooms, which last I saw, were very utilitarian. I believe they were also at least updated as part of the ongoing dome renovation project. Hope they did a better job than UB did. I am guessing we will be seeing pictures soon.
