UghIf the ACC got UCONN, would they consider going North-South with the divisions?
That's my dream:If the ACC got UCONN, would they consider going North-South with the divisions?
Virginia would join the Big Ten before this would ever happen. That's my dream:
North
Syracuse
Boston College
Connecticut
Notre Dame
Pitt
Virginia
Louisville
Virginia Tech
South
Duke
Wake Forest
North Carolina
North Carolina State
Clemson
Georgia Tech
Florida State
Miami
Go to twenty-two conference games so one can play division opponents twice and everybody else once.
Keep the same set-up for football with nine conference games. Play all division opponents and two crossovers.
Yes, I know this will never happen.
Yep, I know thisVirginia would join the Big Ten before this would ever happen.
Switch Miami and Virginia and MAYBE this could happen. Virginia-North Carolina have to be in the same division. Virginia would not want to join the Big East.
North/South is not happening. If ND agreed to become a full member they could pick whoever they wanted as the 16th team Navy/UConn/West Virginia/Cincinnati whoever they want.
That would be horrible. If the ACC got UCONN, would they consider going North-South with the divisions?

I've been reading this board for a long time and I get hating UConn because they are a rival but I feel like ever since we joined the ACC our NYC metro exposure has fallen off drastically! When we were in the Big East, 80 % of our Big East conference games that weren't televised nationally were televised in the NYC market, now we are all relegated to watching on ESPN3. Sure us diehard SU fans tune in but our games aren't getting viewed by the casual bball fan. Less regional exposure could eventually erode our brand and hurt us in the long run. I feel that adding UConn will help boost regional coverage like it once was and help our brand moving forward.
That would be horrible.
I recognize that it will never happen, but why are fans opposed to it?That would be horrible.
There fanbase would revolt if they got sent to the old Big East. Trust me.IDK, they've been voting a lot more blue lately with all the out of state transplants. If they could vote Democrat then who knows.

People are moving in droves to the Northern Virginia that is what is turning VA blue. The UVA fanbase values UNC/Duke rivalries they would be PO'ed if the ACC stuck in an old Big East alignment.

Maryland left because their finances were a mess because of Debbie Yow killing their AD with an awful expansion of their FB stadium and leaving them in the red.I can't really argue with you. I thought MD leaving was idiotic. Again, I don't know. It's all about money. As part of the Orange base do you think I was happy going to the ACC? I think the UVA fans would get used to it just like us.

It was all about the money and the Big Ten gave it to them.
UVA would never agree to be in the North split trust me. Our UVA guest Hoo's That could answer that more accurately from that fanbase. They value UNC/Duke rivalries and wouldn't like being sent to the Old Big East.
If the ACC ever did a North/South split Miami would have to be in the North even though geographically they are the most Southern team.
Miami's alumni/students do come a lot from the Northeast.
Fight what? It's too bad we were not able to fight the same way UVA apparently is able to according to you.
Fight what?
In the Big East SU had more stroke. In the ACC UVA has more stroke.
UVA could join the Big Ten at any time that gives them leverage.
If ACC stuck Virginia in an old Big East Conference division their incentive to remain loyal to the ACC goes away.Maryland accepted theB1G invite because tthey were in a deep financial hole.
UVA is not in the same financial position
So start a thread on the FB board. No one's stopping you. This discussion belongs on the football board because football drives the decision making process.
Which P5 conference wants UConn football?

OkI get how you thought I was playing police here. I wasn't intending to. I have no problem with the thread being where it is --just trying to make the point that football is driving all the change in realignment.
