UGGGHHH.. go d...u...k...e

Actually Allen is more of a true "Laettner" than Laettner was.
Sure Laettner went to Nichols, but he was far from a rich kid. People that didn't grow up with him thought he was some rich kid. Whereas Allen is the quintessential "rich kid, prep school, now playing at duke" doosh.

At least Laettner was tall and intimidating. Allen looks like a boy and should stick to his basketball production as an intimating factor.
Instead he's all full of himself cause he plays for Duke and thinks that's the "do no wrong" ticket.

Like Coach K said himself, his pet name for Allen is "A--hole"

Any other school and he would of been suspended after the first trip. Let's see if the ACC has any cajones.
Everyone knows K is untouchable. The only one who is more aware of that than us is K...imo

Why do you think GA (or laettner for that matter) is such an douche? He knows he, duk and k are untouchable. I mean he lied about the trip. Blatant lie, said the fla state guy was grabbing him, they got tangled up and the guy fell down. Go watch the replay, just hilarious

I was a huge fan of MJordan, imo the best ever. But that guy perfected the art of borderline cheating and not getting called on it. Almost ever time MJ touched the ball, imo he either carried it, traveled (steps) or pushed off. And it worked . Look at his MVPs and rings. Winning championships imo is just as much about getting away with any possible edge you can get on the opponent as it is about talent. Guys like MJ and K understand that as well as anyone

Only the highest of character at duke:

"He wanted to keep playing physical," Allen said, according to the Fayetteville Observer. "So I tried to walk away from it as he was grabbing me. We ended up tangling up and falling."

Thought you folks might enjoy this quote from one of the FSU fans (of which I am one) over on Tomahawk Nation concerning this tripping incident:

I can hear my dad b!tching about basketball being a non-contact sport right now.
"It’s become a street fight, not a sport. And I put it all on John Thompson and his hoodlums, ha ha, I mean, Hoyas. If at all levels of basketball, they called traveling or double dribbling for a season, the sport would disappear."

Some posters over there say the way the game was played in college and the pros in the 1990s was different - things they got away with then would be fouls or ejections now - and yes I think Allen should serve a one game suspension, if for no other reason than to avoid an oncourt brawl when some intentional, flagrant foul like this happens again and is not called, unlike what the refs did in the Louisville-Duke game when Allen tripped that UL player.

Its only illegal if you get caught

On a slight tangent--

Notice the official who comes over to Allen and Rathan-Mayes, and apparently is telling them "Boys, boys. Take it easy there. No harm, no foul"? Our buddy, Tony Greene.

Hahaha. If you want a good laugh go over to DBR and look at the poll thread on whether he should be suspended. Some great reply's

The acc agreed w the guys who said he shouldnt, which is all that matters. Cant wait to see his next douche move on the court

The league on Friday issued a reprimand condemning the Duke guard for his "involvement" in the tripping of Florida State's Xavier Rathan-Mayes but did not dole out any further punishment. Wonder what the punishment will be for all of the others "involved". A decision by the ACC which may have the spin off effect of the Duke guard getting his face rearranged on one of his wild drives to the basket.

Amazing. Just amazing. God bless America.

Seriously - what's going to happen when some defender kind of sticks his foot out while the douchebag is on one of his wild drives to the basket? Will the defender get called for an intentional foul? Will he get ejected? Will he get suspended?

Like soup and a sandwich

After k has a quick word w his acc lackey? My guess is 2 game suspension with one game coming in acc tourney

Hopefully he leaves for the pros and gets that stupid smirk smacked off his face.
The pros? He is no better a player than Joe Harris or Jimmer was, and they are fringe players themselves. I think Malachi is even a better prospect. I'm afraid we're stuck with him for 2 more years.
