No I just disagree. You seem angry. He has done nothing since then to change my opinion of him. His insights run from mundane to just plain wrong. He your uncle ?

That's fair. Point being, we won 8 games in a season that propelled Marrone to the NFL. And despite losing our QB, top OL, and top WRs, Shafer managed to win 7 the next year. Maybe Marrone would have won 9 or 10, who knows. But Shafer did alright in year 1. It was year 2 when the wheels came off.
Ha , not really, I’m not a big fan of a lot of sports media, there are a few good ones, it’s just overkill, you can get 12 hours a day of NFL talk on the ESPN family , and that’s off season. ( yea I know , don’t watch … and I don’t for the most part.No I just disagree. You seem angry.
I think I read one article by him and that was it. He has little talent.Brent still sucks
Dino is a UnicornShow me another P5 school in this century that has kept a coach with one winning season in their first 6 years and came back for a 7th season.
I'd rather hate him for his general suckitude and not for things he didn't even say.Brent still sucks
no bowl and keeping ones coach at another losing record would even lose some diehard fans.Oh trust me I don’t disagree
I actually felt he should have been fired after last season
However, I have it from pretty reputable sources that there is little to zero chance of him being fired
Zero point zero
Brent posted this. I wonder if there's a thought that the assistants are at the ready if we start out terribly and JW has Bronco on speed dial
Aye - that’s not what he did.Show me another P5 school in this century that has kept a coach with one winning season in their first 6 years and came back for a 7th season.
That’s exactly what he’s done in addition to those things you have mentioned. You can’t find another P5 school that has keep a coach with 5 of 6 losing seasons.Aye - that’s not what he did.
He beat a ranked conference team in year 1
He beat #2 ranked conference team in year 2
He won 10 games and got an extension
*all P5 schools in our tier would do exactly the same*
He hit his extension at the right time and Covid, that’s it, pretty much the whole story.

I just want him to let the White and Dr A call the shots, not waste time outs and basically turn game day decisions over to them.I don’t agree with it, but I’m telling you right now
Dino is here in 2023 regardless of how this season goes, unless we lose to UCONN AND Wagner

I’d hope so, but usually the CEO types control the game management.I’ve heard that’s the plan
I think Dino is going to take the more CEO type roll and I think that’s a good thing
We shall this if that’s actually the case
The lack of ownership bothers me too. I don't expect him to see "Oh yeah I really ***ed that up. ADJW should fire me" - just maybe something like "We evaluate everything after a game,, including myself and whether we're making the best situation decisions." not "I think I'm really good at it" when there is evidence that's not necessarily the case.I’d hope so, but usually the CEO types control the game management.
He needs to turn it over or have an analytics assistant standing next to him because he doesn’t have a strong track record of making good decisions quickly in the heat of the moment.
I’d feel better about it if he owned up to it instead of doubling down on his clock management prowess. Acknowledge, adapt and improve.
I coached with Homer Smith’s grandson on the offensive side of the ball. All of us routinely, as an offensive staff talked situations and had a card for in game decisions. I would argue that any kid who grew up playing Madden has a strong understanding of game management, just because it’s inherent to know what to do bc you get so many “in-game” reps.
I was listening to Brown last night on ACCN and was impressed with how he owns issues. Dino might want to watch his interview. I just hope that we don't see the wild eyes calling two timeouts while he decides what to do and then the unit rushing onto the field unprepared. I also hope that we don't see Shrader begging for the plays to come in with the clock winding downThe lack of ownership bothers me too. I don't expect him to see "Oh yeah I really ***ed that up. The past couple of years, it was the opposite; Anae was on the sideline. Armstrong used the sideline telephone to talk to Beck when necessary.I wonder what the dynamic will be on GameDays? Anae in the booth, and Beck on the sidelines?
Comps and what we want is irrelevant in this case. The first three years it looked like we were on our way and gave him an extension, correctly. All fair. To me the comp is Addazio at BC. He basically went 500 absent the 1 clunker year, beat USC and meatheaded his way to 500 seasons. He went to 6 bowls in 7 seasons. We would have an Addazio statue at Syracuse for that.
At a certain point the marriage dissolved because they wanted a touch more. Tom O’Brien was that touch more which was 1-2 more wins a year. If Steve did that he’d still be at BC.
My point is we need Addazio results ar Syracuse and I think people would accept Dino long term.
