We need a FO/Goalie coach. Someone that actually knows what they are looking at and how to adjust mid-game. If you look at the staff we have 2 guys that actually coach when we should have 4. When you are going against teams with 4 good coaches you will be behind the ball. We are missing obvious game adjustments because 2 guys can't see it all from field level.

With all said we are right there. We have yet to play a complete game. It's still possible to be great.

The diff is at the X n i’m not saying it’s mullens fault at all. Wambach is a beast n mullen held his own for most of it. But unc won 10 facesoffs in 2nd half we won 4. Which ment we played more defense n guys got tired n they broke down. As said not mullens fault but sadly he is the diff in way if he isn’t winning 50/50 this team can’t hold onto to lead or make comebacks. Simply cause they don’t play smart enough or make mistakes. With mccool not being able to make big time saves. Tho believe had only 6 turnovers in second half compared to 7 in first qtr. The problem is the times of those turnovers which were at important moments.

Since we know that prob won’t change as been going on all year n still happens . Mullen will have to win almost every other or every third faceoff for this team to win anything. Cause know they won’t stop with dumb mistakes so need ball n ball often to counter that. Also won’t say blame coaches on clears to much cause felt like players more panicked then the clear running wasn’t working. Least two failed clears joey was open in middle n pass was never made. Then one they waited to long to pass n was high n defender was already right there. Guys wait to long to get going on clears n no one just simply sprints before teams set up. If guys would all run hard not just guy with ball but offball guys running to space prob be easier.

Also i do like how we had some sort of ride in first half. As seem to throw unc off n even got them to fail to clear once n few turnovers on the ride. Can’t recall totally but felt our ride got super soft in second or we just didn’t do it as big as we did first half. Prob cause once again guys got tired. Seems conditioning is big problem for this team n lack of depth or depth of playing time isn’t helping.

Won’t lie didn’t think we would win this game at all. Thought maby we make it a game. Was surprised to see we actually should have won this game. The first half i had hope but have seen this team to many times to know solid first half means nothing with this team. So never thought we were gonna win at all. But start of 4th and two goal lead i’d be lying to say i actually had hope we could n would do it. Silly me cause that hope died as fast as it came.

This team is super talented n can def compete with princeton ND n unc. Yes those teams may have little more talent n their younger guys are def better than ours. They have depth of scoring n our 2nd midline is just a breather shift for our first. Hahn has been terrible on O for last few games. Mcintee hasn’t played terrible per se but hasn’t done much either. With the lack of depth n even talent doesn’t mean can’t beat those teams. Def can but in order to do it have to play a full game like did in first half. That is where hope is burned by reality. As this team has shown over n over again they can’t play full game. Sadly wasted talented team will be the talks when this team gets bounced.

He can't fix his voice, of course. But he could AT LEAST be talking about the game he's calling and we're watching, instead of telling us a story about his leg cramps 19 years ago.

Somebody told these guys they should just say whatever comes into their mind (Ward, Anish, Paul, Quint) and they all ran with it. Just tell me the score and the guy's name with the ball. And if he's a sophomore or junior. That's all I need.

They love creating these narratives and then talking about them ad nauseam and repeating them for all 4 quarters and then they can say, "See, I told you this might happen."

Agreed, also while he was right on the one moving pick and I think a second they both kept screaming that every pick was now a moving one even when an SU guy was like a statue. It's the ACC tourney not sure why were getting the D list team.

What team is killing it out on the Road? Yes SU isn't the same team away from home but what team is? You could argue Princeton but even ND lost at UVA and won by one versus at Ohio State and 7-6 at Duke.

The attraction argument is 100% false, again you’re comparing recruiting against the rest of the ACC with recruiting in general vs the rest of the country. The team continues to bring in on average a couple of 5 stars and then another handful of 4 stars each class. As noted SU is never going out recruit UNC/Duke/UVA but they have been in the top 10 every year under Gait. Talent isn't a problem it's a coaching issue same reason why the UNC team you love hasn't won a tourney game in literally a decade.

I just find it interesting that people here praise the players when we win but criticize the coaches when we lose. I just don’t think the offensive chemistry on this team is as good as some think, and that’s been obvious since early in the season.

It's not all on the coaches, Gait isn't violating six times or looking lost like Hottle or taking a horrible penalty late to the head. Gait also got a ton of praise for the final four run last year despite the no show vs Maryland.

What is the coaches fault is when the team he takes over in 2021 made the same mistakes this senior laden team is making in 2026 despite being way more talented. It's year 5 this team still can't clear against a 10 man, still can't stop going offsides, still can't stop with a large # of unforced turnovers and continually comes out a with a 3rd quarter swoon in most games against peer teams. At what point are these issues gonna be addressed, 2030?

This team had by far the most PLL picks this year most of which were offensive players, this is again not a talent issue.

We’re not going to outrecruit the southern ACC schools. Kids want to go to warm weather schools. It’s a reality we have to deal with. We’re lucky we have the Dome.

We have the biggest lax fan base by far. Shouldn’t we be able to pay the most in NIL sponsorships to these guys given the community actually cares about lax? There is no way lacrosse is talked about in VA NC MD etc the way it is up here. If NIL works for football and basketball recruiting why would it not translate to lax as well

I’ve been more impressed offensively with the talent on Carolina, ND and Princeton this year. Spallina isn’t a dodger and forces things offensively. The same is true with Leo. Thomson is strictly a finisher. All good players, but not really a cohesive unit.

I agree partially on Mullen. He’s hasn’t been great but when you have no back up and atrocious wings to ever help you out it’s tough. I’d argue dwan and Finn have had the biggest regressions of this class

Agree on Dwan - put the juice goals aside, he's never been the elite defender he was propped up to be . Tonight he's standing on the crease 3 times begging for the ball when we are in a dogfight that's slipping - never mind the endless dumb late hits and penalties - that's not smart nor is it leadership .
