then get another NFL gig and try to eke out some more W’s to catch Shula.

But that ain’t happening now.

I’m thankful that our UNC game just got infinitely more winnable.
Hopefully they’re in full on fiasco dumpster fire mode by then.

Maybe [that certainly seems logical].

But at his age, he's on borrowed time in terms of years. And this isn't 7 - 10 years ago, where he was considered the undisputed GOAT who could have walked into any gig he tossed his hat in the ring for. Who's going to hire a 73 year old HC with a track record of being difficult? Most teams seem to be going the opposite way in terms of chasing modern offensive gurus.

So, let's just say that he gets an NFL job. Probably not going to be a top tier team. So he would need to coach for 2 to 3 more years just to break the record. And he'd be 74 at the start of next season. Borrowed time.

I think there is a long shot outside chance he could go to the Giants. Besides that he is done in the NFL.

I am starting to think this is all a setup for his son. Have a year or two of success and then leave right before the season where his son is made interim HC with a shot at keeping the job. Only problem is the first part, having success.
