UNC Practicing Against Zone Tonight

Awful worked up and hanging onto that armchair psychology straw man. God forbid, some people, not just me, would rather have seen UNC win and not come in here off 2 bad loses. What psycho babble.
Losing can also be pandemic. Dudes get down on themselves and its all over.

Yep. Which would be another psychological fallout .

I'm not worked up at all--I just find it hilarious that you're whining about psycho babble when that is exactly what you are engaging in.

No, I and even several others, said they'd rather play UNC after a win and not after another lose. Pretty simple as others like Moqui spelled out better. You chose to make it some armchair psychological babble analysis of the human psyche.

Some of you need to talk to a good therapist. May I suggest Dr. Leo Marvin?

I don't think many people are giving Miami credit for their win last night against UNC, but they clearly were the better team than UNC. Also i don't care what psychoanalysis people are doing. I don't think UNC being pumped up for a must win is going to make them shoot the basketball any better. Also, I would think Syracuse would be just as pumped up because it is UNC. Man, just lots of overthinking in this thread.

I will ask again.. but how does an inspired UNC team equate to a smarter UNC team? I get that statistics and logic never equate to being a perfect predictor. But there are asterisks next to all of UNC's big wins. They played teams who let them play fast. I can't emphasize that enough. If we lose this game Saturday it will be a major dissapointment and failure by Syracuse. UNC does not have the bball IQ to beat us if we play our game.

I think the focus here should be on us not them. Therefore acknowledging we could lose and play horrible uninspired basketball against a team that has athleticism and effort. UNC has not shown basketball IQ all year.

You need to work on your reading comprehension.

Because the highlighted section above is exactly what I was suggesting is being overstated by you with your talk about "head cases" and what game outcome from last night is better pscyhologically for SU to face on Saturday.

Maybe if you weren't so argumentative all the time, you'd recognize that.

Wow, I commented on something on the first page and when I got to the end of the thread saw a post-war of epic proportions.

Roy Boy and his crybaby style. In the portions of the news conference I saw, it was all about them, meaning his players. They need to step up. Roy never takes the blame. Larranaga outcoached him. He almost beat us on a coaching move. It wasn't talent. It was a really good defensive strategy. Welcome to the wonders of the zone, Roy.

Here are a couple of what I feel are definitive statement about Saturday's game (taking psychological babble out of play).
1) Cuse is not going to be intimidated because it is UNC coming to town. Many of us grew up as admirers of Dean Smith and his great program he had. I'll admit that I was a big Sam Perkins fan and we know how great he would have looked in Orange, and of course his teammate Mike Jordan. But even before that, guys like Bob McAdoo and Walter Davis and Phil Ford and Bobby Jones. This isn't about guys who were stars 40 years ago. This is about 2014. When Carolina Blue steps onto the court, it's just another conference opponent for our kids and another big game for JAB and his staff to get the players ready for.

2) Carolina has to prove a point. I'm sure Roy and his staff and working the kids hard today getting their mindset and focus on how they are going to beat Syracuse. It's about our 2-3 zone and our highly successful offensive efficiency. It's not about Miami and not about Wake Forest and not about their other three losses. They are only going to care about one team. Today is a huge day for them. They need to travel tomorrow and probably somewhat early if they are going to have a shoot around on Friday since the game is so early on Saturday.

So many things are in Cuse's favor right now. However we all know what happened last year when Georgetown came to town. We were playing pretty well and even though we had a huge home court advantage (35,012) we laid a big egg. I have a big feeling that won't be the result on Saturday.

That's rich coming from you. Again, go read my original post or any if the ones that agreed or said the same. Then go read your responses. You took it to the psych couch.

Please add last year to the g-town part of your post. it's not like they did that every time they came to the dome.
