It'll probably be a lot more blood and people really recoil against anything bloody and damage that they can readily see. There could be players looking like boxers. Have to wonder if people will stomach it. Better or worse than rugby? Just wondering. Should be interesting.
 
Will deter players from leading with the head, but be worse for head to ground whiplash contact.
 
would the game really be all that worse if the kids has less contact in practice? the tackling might not be as good but if everyone did it that way it would be equal footing for all

That is the point. It teaches players to be well aware of where their head is. It seems to become second-nature over time.

Leather helmets would mitigate head cuts and scratches. And teams could still put logos and designs on them.
 
They should hand out ball peen hammers to each kid as he goes on the practice field or axe handles.
