A decade? It took Marrome 2 years to get to a bowl and his 4 year record was better than the last 3 P years prior to Grob. So I'm not sure setting us back a decade is factual.

Wow. Can we let the Marrone era rest - Marrone did what he was hired to do by bringing the program back to a level of respectability. Grob was the problem and was a Gross hire. Marrone was not a primary candidate for Gross but was overruled by the committee. I still blame Gross as the primary reason for the football program demise.

Regardless Marrone did bring the program back to respectability but he wasn't going to take the program any further because he didn't like recruiting, was overly stubborn and fought the establishment instead of working it to his advantage (I was a big supporter of Marrone in many ways).

Lest you forget Shafer was a Marrone hire. Marrone really paved the way for Shafer to be successful. However, Shafer's record is only 10-15 for first 2 years and now 13-16. At the end of 4 years to match Marrones record he has to go 12-9 from here on out.

Can Shafer do it? Given the McD era as OC - no way. Given the Lester era of OC - I'm encouraged. For me I certainly hope we not only match but do better than that.

So can we just let this rest and move on and go for the win on Sat?
