A big reason for the mid season demotion and subsequent promotion is between the lines of your post. Unwritten coaching rule, you never bad mouth anyone on your staff (or in the industry really). Unfortunately, not all coaches can handle that because their egos are too important.

Exactly and really confirms what was already known. Nobody leaked the demotion of McD to the media except...McD
