Vegas line for Pitt

I have this theory that Vegas sets the line to push more of the action on the team that is less likely to cover the spread. I think they would like it to be equal and just make the 10% vig, but seeing how that is very difficult to do, they err on the side that they calculate has a better chance at covering.

The worst bookies are the bookies that gamble. They're always trying to get to 50-50. It's just good business.

Agreed. I don't think they get it 50-50, so they have to make a bet at that point. I have noticed that when lines move strongly in 1 direction, that side often loses. Haven't done a statistical study, just observations.

There are NO sharps. Just about everybody loses. And, over the long term, everybody loses. That's why it's Vegas. There are NO sharps.

The best of the best hit at best 55-56% and those number a very few

Now I see why the line was as low as it was.

Yeah I guess the "sharps" knew that Dungey would bring his "C" game and that the Pitt FG kicker would hit a couple of 55 yarders.

He brought his C game in the second half of Clemson and it has carried over. He may be playing hurt.
