Vegas line for Pitt

that d
I teased this game with the Patriots last night to a pick em and then just took more action at 3.5 yesterday. I fail to see where Pitt hangs with us. The D gives me great comfort in that we can win this thing in a shootout or in a game where Pitt can string out 5-7 minute drives trying to come back from 13-3 or something. Key for this one, IMO, is to get ahead early and make them chase us.

I smell 30-10 type game. Feels like it'll be a rockfight

screw the tease, you should have parlayed the line.

This line and movement show that Syracuse doesn't get any respect and in general people think this team is not "for real". This game will define the season and whether they are contenders or pretenders.

honestly for somone who is on a ton of shows he gets very little right.. he does point out some great trends, most of which seem to fail.

yep, at the end of the day he is just like the rest of us: a degenerate gambler who loses more than half of the time and doesn't know squat.

So SVP just picked PITT +3.5..saying it was the stupidest line of the year..the world has syracuse, yet the line keeps going down...so he figures something is up..and is taking pitt.

I like SVP a lot, but the dude misses a lot more than he hits, like most people. Unless Henry Hill has the fix in for Pitt, nothing is up, people think we will have a letdown after Clemson and they look at the losing streak going back to 2001. I don't think the former will happen and the latter is because we have sucked since 2001 with very very few exceptions.

the bookmaker cannot change your odds, that is not to say that the odds on your market selection cannot change. They just won't affect your bet. After you have placed your bet, the price may drift out, or it may shorten, but it will not make any difference to the betting slip you have submitted.

Horse racing is different. Its crazy and upperdeck's case sucks

at the time the line was 6 which i thought was a touch too much on the road. In hindsight u are right.

That's what I've been thinking

It's nuts that the prevailing thought is "this is weird, Syracuse is better by near every measure, but Vegas" ...

The best I can come up with is:

- hope of a letdown after Clemson (don't see it)
- that last drive was a blueprint and that we can be run on (I think this is bunk)
- Narduzzi can do what Shafer did to us somehow (I don't think so)
- Marino is starting for Pitt (he's probably still able to sling it)

There's always the obvious, a key player is out that isn't public information.

So what is up that would make the line go towards Pitt. Insider stuff - like Dungey broke his leg - would've been leaked.

I have a hard time believing let down. We haven't played a 'letdown' game under Babers. The one time we came out and played flat was MTSU. I think there's enough mix of veterans and youngsters that it's hard to play flat. The young guys are usually licking their chops to get action and play well. And we have capable backups in key spots.

Maybe they're entirely banking on Ollison rushing for 200 yards like Etienne did. I don't see it but it could happen.

Now I really love SU.

They also didn't play flat. Had the chance to blow the game open, but made costly mistakes.

Every week there are examples where a line moves heavily in one team's direction only to have that team get rolled. Don't over-analyze this stuff. When you see value, take it.

Well Henry Hill's Pittsburgh guys were the connection to the BC player that initiated the point shaving at BC in the late 70's. Maybe some of those guys are still around?

Light up the Bees signal. We need that insider practice injury info.

Both teams are 1-1 in the ACC. We haven't won there in forever. Why should it be high? Pound us if you think its off of course.

A popular tout could have released Pitt as a top play or a big syndicate hammered Pitt. I remember about 7 years ago this tout named Dr. Bob would release his picks and lines would immediate move 3-4 points in minutes. Could be plenty of reasons for the big movement.

Very true!

could be, unless some of them ended up like most of the Lufthansa heist guys.

yep, anything can happen, but like you said, where was the letdown after Tech in 2016, Clemson last year and FSU this year? we were sloppy as hell against BC in 2016 after Tech, but that team was pretty damn sloppy all year and we won at their place. In 2017, Dungey was horrific in the first half at Miami after Clemson, but we took them to the wire. After FSU this year, we came out on fire against crappy U Conn with 21 pts in the first 8-9 minutes and basically coasted after that. if we don't turn the ball over there is absolutely no reason we don't win tomorrow, we are just the better team in all phases, except their RBs are better. that alone won't win them the game

Who is that key? Eric is the obvious one - but I’m not sure it should move by that much. Maybe Cordy?

This field could be wet and muddy which would favor a slow pace/running game. Heavy rain today.
