Why doesnt Syracuse want to leave the Big East early? They do not even attend conference meetings with the BE anymore and dont have voting rights. The BE allows WVU to leave early, they take Temple back and have signed up half a dozen schools to join the BE in future years without Syracuse having any say. I would say that Syracuse has had its brand image tarnished with the likes of the additions that have come to the BE...great to be associated with Temple, UCF etc. and not Duke, UNC, FSU, U

The BE only "allowed" WVU to leave early ... after WV paid a $20 million exit fee.

Syracuse and Pitt aren't willing to spend $20 mil.

Plus it would be an absolute clusterfluck if they tried to leave now...we are in the BE next year...they (Pitt/Cuse)will negotiate an early exit starting July 1st, 2013...Each school will throw the BE a few extra million a piece and move on.
