Every game against them looks the same. Don't know why we came out trying to drive the ball to the rim. The packline is designed to stop that. No team they have played has been able to drive to the rim. Have to beat it with ball movement and perimeter shooting. Bad game plan today. The officiating is terrible but we would be losing anyway. Why is Perrantes left alone at the top of the key every damn possession? 48% 3 pt shooter being left alone.

They are the new Pitt but Benett is a much much better coach than Dixon

Didn't they show a replay of him holding his arm? The one where the ball went through the bottom of the rim?

Yeah, definitely a foul. Unless grabbing the forearm on the shot isn't a foul any more.

It's not the refs. The boys are exhausted. We need to make shots. I thought it looked like G wobbled a few times trying to move with the ball.

This is basically the result of the game in Charlottesville if we didn't make 13 threes. I'm not sure if we have any solution for UVA. It's just a horrendous matchup for us. We may beat them every third or forth year we play as long as Bennett is their coach.

Really? I have no idea what their recruits or bench guys look like. Historically these fighter defensive teams have high highs with the right players, but tend to settle back down to averagish once the right mix leaves. Maybe they have another right mix lined up, I have no idea.

They're recruiting well.

I agree. The refs are not always going to get right. But our problems is not the refs. Are problem is bad shooting. And we do not have the leg power to drive to the basket or get open looks.

We have been horrible in the first half on offense. Their defense is a lot better than our offense. Unless Virginia decides not to show up, we can't outscored them. None of our guys can jump stop in the lane and either take a short jumper or floater. You have to make shots. You can't win scoring 21 points in a half. We can tie the game if we outscore them in the second half 21-7.

Zone taketh and zone giveth. Announcers never seem to mention how our opponents get wide open, standstill jumpers, while our shooters work like dogs and struggle to get an open shot against man.

They're fouling us and no calls. Lydon got stepped on and obviously tripped .. the kid ripped off his shoe in front of the whole country. I think that could have been called. And we're not getting any calls driving to the rim ... there's contact on some of those plays. And it should be called .. especially if they're going to whistle Roberson for a moving screen.

Cooney needs a a lot of space to catch & shoot. They are in his jock on D. He can't get any space to shoot. Neither can MR.

Virginia is a much better team and there is no shame losing to a better team. Still a half to go, but if we do lose, we lose with house money. No problem with that.

I think JB made a major tactical mistake here. He decided he'd rather allow Perrantes to shoot 21-23 footers rather than allow UVA's other players to operate inside the foul line. With most opponents that makes sense. But not UVA. Their defense is so solid that even if LP shot 30% from 3 we would lose.
