That, or our defense was just flat or something. Hopefully JB will use his hall of fame genius and make some adjustments to our zone for the second half. Where's that zone thread? Halves like this are why this archaic one dimensional defensive philosophy is tired.

Maybe they cool off in the second half and we come back but no reason for a weak af offensive team like Virginia to go all GS Warriors on us for 10 minutes and we just sit back and take it.

They always look like GS against us. The ball rarely sticks and they have guys who can make shots on all parts of the floor. These current UVA teams can destroy a zone.

This is the exact reason you don't use one exclusive defense.

Players are far too fast and athletic nowadays to give them too much open space on a basketball court.

58% from the field and 56% from 3; if the can keep that up, kudos to them and they will win. Gotta think they slow down at least a little, luck to be down only 8 honestly.

UVA is really the ideal team against the zone. They're smart, patient, pass well, can shoot, and have a legit low post threat who can also make that 15 ft jumper.

Have to think they will start cooling off a little, and our O didn't look that bad. G is getting to the lane at will and Mali looks on.

There are certain teams, we all know who they are who know how to beat the zone more times than they'll lose to it. We need to have more in the cupboard.

We really shouldn't be surprised by this. UVA has trashed us since we joined the ACC. Their fundamental, don't turn it over basketball that goes over the top of screens on defense has beaten us into submission the last two years.

We need to come out on fire and play much tighter defense at the elbow

Not being a Debbie downer but just these past few Syracuse teams just cannot handle Virginia. Just a bad matchup all around. I mean we spotted them what kind of lead again in 1H last year in the Dome last year and pretty much got dominated. We'll see what happens in the 2H here.

Good shooters make shots. It's not about being hot or cold, it's about being open.
