from wakes local fish wrap. What a bunch of dilutional a**holes.

Junior linebacker Brandon Chubb of the Deacons said the Orange (3-4, 1-2 ACC), which was playing freshman quarterback AJ Long in his first college start, should have never been able to score the game’s final 30 points. Syracuse gained 370 yards while the Deacons managed only 170.

“Coach Clawson mentioned it was an average team, at best,” Chubb said. “So it should have been a lot closer.

“At the beginning of the game when it was 7-0, I think that’s what we were expecting. And then the full swing of momentum to Syracuse’s side was very surprising. We’re matched evenly. I thought it would be a closer one. I think we all did.

“Those are frustrating games. You should win those games, or at least make it close and make it a four-quarter game.”

Vegas thought it was a closer match up.

Not seeing a serious dissing. More a reflection on his disappointment in his own team.

Until we start capitalizing on our Red Zone opportunities, we remain a mediocre-average club at best.

Going to be tough to get to 6-6 (the very definition of mediocre-average), but it's doable.

Cheers,
Neil

Eghh, he's saying we arent FSU, and the game shouldnt have been a blow out (which it was). As said above, more dissing his own team than ours.

The post game interview with the Wake coach was being broadcast as we left the stadium. He said they are not a good team. So, he has a load of sour attitude and doesn't mind spreading it around.

Can't blame him, their performance was pitiful. Ran into a local coach at the game who said he went back to the tailgate at halftime to get something to drink because Wake was so awful.

We are an average team. Of course, as a player, who just lost by 23 pts... I wouldn't SAY that.

The same Vegas that had all of our games as closer match-ups, except for FSU?

SU vs. WF +6 Won by 23
Louisville vs. SU +1.5 Lost by 18
ND vs SU +9 lost by 16
MD vs. SU -1.5 lost by 14
SU vs. CMU +4.5 won by 37

If we are average "at best" what does that make them?

A. Not very bright
B. Not very good
C. Classless
D. All of the above

To actually say that and admit to it in public shows they can't give credit where it is due, proves they are delusional and makes them look even worse because they lost to an average team by 23 points AND we called off the dogs in the 4th quarter.

Why would you disrespect a team that beat you down, it makes you look worse. Makes no sense, shouldn't they be talking us up to make themselves look better?

I wonder what SS said behind closed doors.. he always uses well coached team in public though.. our kids talked up the Wake D all week, I dont think anyone mentioned how had the offense was like that though.

He maybe their new coach but he should have glanced at 2013 results and saw that we shut them out here in Syracuse just last year. Maybe he isn't the difference maker that he and Wake thought when they hired him.

Perspective of us has gotten to its lowest point before this week. Can't compare that way.

I was simply stating that Vegas doesn't know much about this team or what the spreads should be.

Many of us on this board knew this game would be a blowout. Wake Forest has a terrible offense and they lost to some pretty bad teams. Not sure how they thought they were going to be able to beat SU. SU has lost only to good teams and really good teams at that. Two legit top ten teams in ND and FSU a Lousville team with the best defense in the country that I'm sure will be top 25 at the very least and Maryland is no slouch at 5-2. So SUs 2-4 is LOT different than Wakes was. So really how dare he make the comment.

From. What I saw the two teams could play forever and Wake would never have chance. They get bitch slapped on their own field plain and simple.

Thinking you can win is fine. Saying the other team is average or not as good as you after they just kicked your butts is not bright.

With Broyld, Estime, the entire OL, that game could have just as easily been 50-7. WF was lucky to catch SU at its weakest, with two weeks to prepare, he should keep talking crap about his own team, which he did almost the entire presser.

This schedule was really front loaded. I would lean on Hickey, West, Davis and Lynch this week if I was Shaf. These guys were 2-4 with Louisville and a road game at Missouri staring them in the face. This season is far from over. Clemson is a completely different team without Watson. It's time to turn field goals in to touchdowns and pull an upset. The seniors have been here before and know we can do it again. Go Orange (or Navy or Silver).

Blue Helmet, White top, Blue pants is my prediction for the Clemson game.

Before the Robinson TD, they were driving and could have made it a game. It was probably their best chance for an ACC win and he's right to say they should have been in the game longer.

People here need to get some thicker skin- SU is an average team

After the Greg Robinson ERA mediocre isn't bad. We are mediocre nothing wrong with saying we are mediocre.
Past 5 years.
2009- 4-8
2010- 8-5
2011 5-7
2012 8-5
2013 7-6
2014 3-4

We are 35-35 in our last 70 games which is mediocre. Again this isn't an insult and I thank Marrone getting us back to mediocre after 10-37 in 4 years with Greg Robinson.

Our guys were bigger, stronger, and faster. It would have been a total beat down if we could avoid penalties.

not see the diss, Syracuse is still not a very god football team, we are slightly below average at best

I don't understand how he "thought it would be a closer one".
WF laid down and lost their interest in scoring late in the 3rd quarter. There was no urgency to score points...no hurry-up on offense...just a lot of hand offs to Wortham (57 yards worth, at least) and a lot of punts.
How is the game supposed to be close?
