They didn't actually opt out. They entered the transfer portal, which usually means you aren't going to play. But WSU is letting them play.

The part people don’t talk about enough when guys bolt for the portal / draft and opt out of bowl games. These are lifetime memories. Even if you are going to opt out of playing, everyone should try to make the trip
