Watched Dungey's First Three Games As Orangeman.

i always felt like Paulus was similar to Doug Flutie in that he was never a recipient of a full on hit like Dungey (who seems to find the bone crushing hits no matter what). I wish we had Paulus for a few years. I actually think what he did, at the time, is criminally underrated in the history of the program.

I don't think I could watch the CMU game again, it would make me too angry.

There aren't enough points we can score in that game this year. I hope it's 100 to nothing and the only thing that prevents 107 is the clock running out.

I couldn't agree more.

That hit may be the worst I have ever seen. It's hard to watch. And, you will recall, the pass was completed for a TD.

That CMU kid was lucky to have received only an ejection.

In my opinion, he should have been suspended for at least six games.

I am hoping for a solid 56-0 game this year.

By halftime

A lot of what ifs can happen in any situation. I think if Coyle bolted when he originally wanted (3 months in) then no way we fire SS and hire DB

agreed. Shafer was a dead man the minute Coyle took the job, he didn't like Shafer and didn't believe in him, but if he had indeed bailed after 3 months, SS would have been retained for 2016. Whew.

Hope we see big improvement from Dungey in 2017. Frankly, I didn't see the progress from him that I was expecting from True Freshman to Sophomore season. Maybe my expectations higher than they should've been but he was too sloppy too often for my liking. Even in the spring game he forced a pass into coverage and had it picked off. Needs to play smarter.

I am well aware of that. Thing is, there's what has been reported, and what is actually correct.

Dungey has been knocked out of games a minimum of three times and didn't dress at the end of his first two seasons as a result. That's a fact.

Why he was kept out of last year's last game or two might be opinion. But he needs to be able to stay on the field. And he hasn't done that yet.

To be fair that's from an option offense to a run & shoot. Very interested to see what his progression is like this upcoming season

Yes. Totally aware of that. Also know exactly what the deal is. And, again, what's been reported isn't the same as the reality.

Semantics.

But "staying healthy" tends to mean staying on the field. And here have been a minimum of four/five games Dungey missed significant time in due to injury before the Clemson smack last November. Valid point/issue.

Just because he or anyone was injured last year or the year before doesn't mean a thing , injuries are purely bad luck . Exceptions are the same injury that maybe didn't fully heel . The kid plays a little reckless but that is his style , that's what you guys like about him , it isn't his skill or reads it's his heart , hopefully he and all the boys get lucky and stay healthy .

All I can/will say concerning Eric is that you don't know what you don't know. Unless you're one of his parents (you're not). Or med staff.

What I know is that he has missed multiple games multiple times.

Goodness

You're wrong...I like him for all the attributes you've listed. Eric really understands the offense/reads and possesses the intangibles (pocket presence, feel for the game, poise etc) that are difficult to teach. He is, without question, the best pure athlete to play the position since McNabb.

I disagree with pocket presence , he is a run first guy , pocket presence is for pass first guys , he is a very solid qb for sure

Yep. Now, tell me exactly why. Mind you, I will know if you're wrong.

He missed the games because he did not play. Multiple times.

That's kinda what I care about.

If the problem was with the medical staff and not with the player, then it's not in ED's control to rectify. From the new hires and rumblings here it sounds like they won't be so overzealous in sitting him when healthy.

Yep. Dealing with the sane sht right now, as well.

So, no clue.

Super talented kid. He missed four games as a FR and the final 3+ his Soph year.

Not every game missed has been due to the opinion of the medical staff. Or has it?

Everything you need to know about Eric was revealed in last years Boston College game. When he got in the scuffle with the cheap shot dude from BC the whole team responded. The team loves him.

And I love him too. I hope to see him start 13 games this year.

Respectfully disagree. This kid has played his balls off behind olines always in flux, now his 3rd offensive system (remember, Lester ran 2 different systems). He will kill it this year. I pray to God he stays on tbe field. We have a gem in ED, a gem that will play on Sundays if he can stay on tbe field.

You tell me, as you obviously talk to his folks more than I do.
