Wayne Morgan

Seems as if he was hanging on waiting for an offer from one of the bigs. Isn't Marrone supposed to do an in-home with him today?

Seems to have gotten lost, but I posted a few days ago that the NYC Football forum references him visiting Wisconsin this weekend/soon.

As others have said, this kids seems to absolutely be waiting for something better to come along. I bet it will.

I guess his holdout paid off. They must have some empty spots to fill.

PSU on him, here we go melt down time again...
Penn State is now coached by Bill O'Brien, said to be a very good friend of DM's. The families might not vacation together again anytime soon.

On the negative if we lose out on Brantly Morgan Manley Owens and Whig just like our five game losing streak to end our nightmare season. Still the jury is out until signing day lets hope that DM closes strong and makes good on his promise during one of our double secret lunches that recruiting was basically done for the year and our focus was on 2013 and 2014. Actually with the exception of Owens i think we end up signing all of these guys and i do take some solace in the fact that we are being poached by top tier programs.

Brantley is still committed, Morgan is still in play, Manley may not be visiting Mizzou after all, and Whigham is back to a firm commit FWIW.

It's all because Marrone is a lame duck coach who doesn't deserve a contract extension

Do you think that these kids are waivering because they are concerned about Doug making it past next year Borny? I think it has more to do with the fact that we have poor facilities, their positions coaches have been let go and they may not know and most likely havnt met their new coach. If i were looking at spending the next four years of my life at a school and i had been recruited for more than a year by a particular coach and all of a sudden that coach is gone and i dont have a chance to know who is going to be coaching me i might look around as well. Also i asked you a question in another post about how you think recruiting is going this year and if you think we should be extending Doug and extension prior to seeing how 2012 plays out. As you know my thoughts are that if Doug gets off to a good start lets go ahead and extend him for another 2-4 years. If however we have a rough start i believe we should wait until the end of the season and either extend at that point or move in a different direction. Would love to hear your thoughts thx

When did Doaust leave?

Manley and Brantley were both here on the 14th. Manley verbaled to SU AFTER that.

Two other DLinemen committed after that.

Seriously, think about the facts before you post.

It's almost like you have a preconceived idea of what is going on.

The facts are all of these kids with the exception of the Jucos have been recruited by position coaches who are no longer with us. Sure Tim is still on staff as is Shafer but my point is as fickle as an 18 year old can be any change can become huge in their minds. I will agree with you on Manley but on the other guys the coaching change could be a factor. As i said i still think we land all of them with the exception of Owen who i really think was influenced by distance and weather. What is your take? thx

I still like our chances of landing him. He has friends here and many other Brooklyn natives. Not sure how many PSU has but I would imagine not as many as we do. If he was just waiting for a better offer then there is nothing really we can do.

I still think we get Morgan. I don't see the sky as falling with this class but I certainly don't see it the way some do as something great or even progress. It looks exactly like every class we have gotten the past 7-8 years.

There are some bright spots. Morgan would be one of them, as under Marrone we haven't gotten top NY kids. We've recruited Georgia very well. Next year's class will be vital to Marrone.

There are always bright spots. Every class has some and every class has had a Morgan type kid. Last year it was Reddish.
