What a great win. The only two wins that I think I've ever enjoyed more were the Gator Bowl and when we went into the Big House and pounded Michigan.
It was nice to see growth. Yeah, we made some mistakes but we didn't have any back breakers. It was good to see the team perform well right from the beginning of the game. I'm happy for the people that said that we would win games if we just didn't turn it over.
Very cool that we were 2 yards for Gulley away from having 2 guys rush for 100 yards. Lemon's hot streak continued - he has 5 TDs in the last 4 games. Lemon and Sales might be the most statistically prolific duo we've ever had at WR.
This game had a lot of feel good moments. Lemon and Nassib ending their last game in the Dome on a high note. Coker's TD. Shamarko being Shamarko. It felt like everything came together.
Bridgewater is the real deal. I think he'll be a starter in the NFL some day. Strong is a really good coach. I think losses like today will be a rarity for his teams.
Sitting at 5 and 5 I feel good knowing that we just need to win 1 out of 2 to be bowl eligible. Both are on the road, but I think we can get one more. Would be nice to play the last game of the season to improve the record instead of fight for a bowl though.
As I see it, there are only two things to complain about today. West dropped another TD, and while it didn't end up hurting us, I didn't see the point in having Nassib on the field with 4 minutes to go. Yeah, it was senior day, but I would have felt a lot better having Loeb in there just in case. You can still bringing Nassib back in for the Victory formation.
Otherwise, I think that Marrone is starting to understand the college game. He's opened himself up to showing some emotion on the sideline - I do think that has made a difference. We're running the type of offense that keeps a college defense on its heels - that was the right call. (By the way, did everyone else catch that they said they decided to go no huddle a week before the season? Thank goodness for that choice. Completely changed what we were doing into a new offense. Yeah, I said it.) Some of the snap decisions and the special teams need work, but Marrone this season feels just a little more like a college coach, and I think that little bit can lead to big things.
Really excited for the players and staff. Two, hopefully three more to go. This has been a lot more fun.
