We need an Otis Hill type this year at C

On the one hand I completely agree with this, on the other I'm convinced that Otis would make no difference because Boeheim teams have stopped making any attempt and/or are completely incapable of feeding the ball into the post.

Offensive rebounding and shot blocking are in short supply. Mystified why Newton, Edwards, JBA and Frank can't be put in for some minutes to pull down some rebounds and hold opponents from undefended putbacks and second chance opportunities.
Otis and Etan made their presence known.

We've sort of fallen into having a Notre Dame type squad, but playing zone instead of m2m.

An Otis-type is the one area we are lacking. Notre Dame always has that inside out - the rough & tumble sort of bruiser inside that can things done underneath and just occupy space.

We have most of the components - but with Marek.

Kadary is a phenomenal step in the right direction and AG is a nice addition as well. So, I think we're slowly heading back to where we need to be, but this roster still at times feels like a decent Notre Dame team -1 big part of their success (when they have it)

Obviously like them we're pretty horrific defensively...

There’s no point in passing to the post when the bigs can’t catch it and even if they do they are zero offensive of threat, it’s just a black hole. I bet anything if we had a capable big like Otis or Arinze or Rak or Fab we would use them

Marek can post up now. Quincy can post up now. We don't go to them because we'd rather have guards shooting 25% from three vomit up double the shots of a dude connecting on 66% of his shots OVERALL.

So, I kindly disagree. Plus, Rak was a legitimate post threat long before we actually fed him.

I think we miss the presence mostly on the boards. Sid could help with this. If we posted a player up on the blocks we have players that could/would feed him. People want Q to post up but he thinks he's a 2G. He's doing a very good job playing as an undersized 4. Our frontline are all undersized and out of position. Our backcourt is a tad heavy footed.

Is it still possible to have an Otis or AO type center if they are required to cover the corner on defense?

We haven't recruited a bulky inside guy since DuJuan. When did we start having the center run to the corner to block jump shots?

I hope *wishful thinking* when the exodus of a couple of our centers happen...we look for a center that is 240lbs+ min but very wishful thinking

I feel like in watching JBA and Frank you see some nice long term potential - but I do wonder if it materializes or if they remain slight of build and we just have a logjam of serviceable skinny centers for a bit. Regardless we definitely need that size you mention, as it would make a huge difference.

Is this a real thing? Everybody always talks about this. We were plenty successful before we made the center runout to cover the corner three. Why must we do it now? JB’s quirks and edicts are getting weirder and weirder and it’s leading to more and more mediocre seasons.

But they don't get better if you don't even try. You don't think we could post up Quincy against some teams who play man against us?

don’t mistake a game for practice. Unless you’re saying we don’t try in practice?

Quincy is fine in the post until he meets up with someone who can push him around. I agree though they should use him a little more there.

any coach coaching any sport is going to play to their strengths, our post up game is not one of them with our personnel.
