it's a legitimate concern but our recruiting has been blowing up so much that i think we would be in contention for top guards even if we had to play frosh.I believe Dion his gone after this year (and he should be) I am concerned the MCW will blow up next year and leave as well. And that would leave us with:
2012-13
MCW
Cooney
Triche
2013-14
Cooney

JHart and JFlynn started at the point as freshmen and both years ended with the NIT! Cooney is not a PG from my understanding.it's a legitimate concern but our recruiting has been blowing up so much that i think we would be in contention for top guards even if we had to play frosh.
Why? Look at Dion now compared to last year.We are a long ways from MCW leaving early.
GMac started as a frosh PG and ended with a National Championship.JHart and JFlynn started at the point as freshmen and both years ended with the NIT! Cooney is not a PG from my understanding.
T.M.I.We are undefeated, #1 in the country and are having one of those seasons that give me a hard on and we are talking about recruiting a PG for next year????
Oy.
Dion would be stupid to leave. He doesn't have a consistent jumper. He doesn't pass well enough, and he'll have to be a PG in the NBA.
JFlynn's freshman year was the most extreme circumstances that JB has ever faced. Due to injury and defections our Orange had 7 scholarship players: 4 freshman, 2 sophs and a JUCO transfer in KONG. By far the youngest team in JB's history and a remarkable feat just to make the NIT.JHart and JFlynn started at the point as freshmen and both years ended with the NIT! like you guys dont get hard watching this team!T.M.I.
Its better than another Mookie thread or Scoop isn't this or that. What should we talk about how we should have won by 40?We are undefeated, #1 in the country and are having one of those seasons that give me a hard on and we are talking about recruiting a PG for next year????
Oy.
He'd be foolish to pass up millions. He's gone. His j is fine and he can
Work on it in the summer league, practice and 82 games a year.

look at the minutes ... now multiply his numbers to match their minutes -- oh, and he comes off the bench and puts those numbers upThe two people who compare most to Dion, imo are John Wall and Kemba Walker. Let's compare the college stats. (Waiters stats are from this season)
Wall - PPG - 16.6 and APG - 6.5 (34 mins)
Walker - PPG - 23.5 and APG - 4.5 (37 mins)
Waiters - PPG - 12.5 and APG - 2.7 (21.4 mins)
Behind both those guys in points per game and assists per game. He's not ready.
True but should we bank on finding another Gmac? I'm not sure if there are any guards out there that are good enough, but the need is still there.GMac started as a frosh PG and ended with a National Championship.
Are there any guards left in the 2012 class that are good enough for us? Taking leftovers isn't a great idea.
Or how often they shoot...look at the minutes ... now multiply his numbers to match their minutes -- oh, and he comes off the bench and puts those numbers up
Agreed! But do you want a freshmen starting pint guard?JFlynn's freshman year was the most extreme circumstances that JB has ever faced. Flynn was the #6 pick! Leaving was the right decision! people act like he would have become Micheal Jordan my staying. Take the money and hope for the best!we dont need another guard. dion would be stupid to leave. Flynn isnt lighting the NBA on fire, however he'll likely stick for a bit. I would not be surprised if Donte's NBA career is over after this season - given his potential he has been a massive flop.
Dion needs to learn from this - the NBA isnt where you go to learn to play basketball.
MCW isnt leaving early.
we are fine.
