NFL Preview: Vikings start over with Donovan McNabb at QB

Their inexperience showed as Hampton quarterback David Legree and running back Antwon Chisholm combined for 245 yards rushing, including 130 and two touchdowns to rally the Pirates in the second half.

"They couldn't run straight ahead in the first half," A&M coach Anthony Jones said. "They gashed us up the middle in the second half because we lost some of those interior guys. We've got to have guys step up. That was their opportunity to play big and for the most part, particularly in the third quarter, they didn't do it. They took advantage of us."
Legree, defensive end Brawnski Towns says, was the difference.

He had 63 yards on just seven carries in the second half, including a 8-yard touchdown run that pulled the Pirates within 17-14 late in the third quarter. Legree finished with 104 yards on 14 carries and seemingly made big play after big play during Hampton's rally.

"Legree was the key. We couldn't contain him," said Towns, whose unit failed to record a sack and was credited with one quarterback hurry and only five tackles for loss. "We didn't have enough good interior linemen to get to him. He was too quick for us to make plays on him."

The fact that a grown man feels the need to call himself "The Axeman" is sad. The fact that he now has the Axepress lane...is really sad.

Nice article on the O Line. Good comments from Macky. Still worry about him, but hopefully they can continue to improve and build of the second half of last game. Also seems to show that Hackett and Marrone are good halftime coaches.

Enjoyed that 3 part video interview with Nate Hackett.
