Week 4 ACC/FBS Games for Sept 22-24

I think the difference in the Miami and UCLA situations is that they have built in competition as to why not to attend. Up here we don't have those obstacles (sun, vsans, metro in a pro city)

You are underrating the thrill of raking leaves

Never said SU was the only place not selling out. I will say I've never understood this board's strange obsession with Rutgers. Who cares what they're up to? But yeah it's true that there are plenty of places that don't sell out. College football is a religion in much of the south and midwest. Elsewhere fan interest is a bit spotty.
Yep and didn't say you did. Was just calling out that there are some on this board that like to slam the community because we don't sell out every weekend and it's kinda stupid. If Syracuse didn't have a mostly crappy product for 20 years there would be more hardcore fans like us on the board and more hardcore fans would attend games.

if 35 was our norm and more when we are good thats fine.. if we lower the seating to 44K with seats 35-40K its going to look good in there. If they would move the camera to the visitor side it would look better as well. you could pop a tower on the outside on the visitor section and make it have access and you could put a press box over there and ours wouldnt be so cramped either..

Miami shouldn't be allowed to have all these high level recruits while they continue to waste talent year in year out.

1 recruiting class ranked outside the top 20 since 2016 and several top 15. So much on paper talent and they continue to waste it year in year out.

Yes, there are only 5-8 really good teams and we’re as good as anyone else this year

We overweight other teams good performances while underweighting their poor performances and do the opposite of ourselves

Seeing the photos from the locker room and sleeping on it I felt much better about Friday night. We’ve run out to many a good start just to watch the team crumble and lose. This team had a good start. Made some really stupid mistakes. Lost the lead. And won.

They showed the graphic that we hadn’t won a game with 4+ turnovers since 2004. I still think there’s something special brewing.

I think our only obstacle is only being good 4 out of the last 22 years. Fix that and it will be over 40 a game. There a big commitment for a Saturday. People want there moneys worth for them to feel it’s worth the investment.

Coaching or lack thereof.

Inflated recruiting rankings is part of it as well.

There is no doubt a ton of talent in South Florida. But there may now be a regional bias in play with many recruits ranking just from being from the region

………….there our actual real regional rival

What's kind of funny is that if ND was in the ACC they would have had a good shot at a Major bowl with 3 losses. Finish in first or second (in a 1 division conference) and there's the shot.
I thought I read a stat recently that since 2018 ND is 21-0 against ACC teams not named Clemson. This looks like the year where that streak could end.

They'd be a more meaningful rival if we actually played them. As far as I can tell we don't play RU over the next five years. Meanwhile we play lowly UConn three times over that timeframe.

SU & Rutty should play annually, alternating home field, either on or the week of 9/11. Make it a tradition honoring firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, etc. I’ve been beating this drum for 20 years. Sadly, it makes too much sense to ever come to fruition.

That could be on them. Schiano has a history of scheduling cupcakes out of conference.

You mean like Wagner and UConn? :)

I checked and their future non-conference opponents over the next five years include BC, Kansas State and VaTech although they didn't list all of the non-conference opponents. They probably play in the toughest division in the country along with the SEC West. Can't say I blame them for booking a few cupcakes.

Well Wagner yes. It’s also likely the games you note were scheduled well before he returned to RU; his Big East OOC schedules were notorious for the low quality of the opponents.
