Well we made the front page of ESPN at least

The idea that the team would have a record of 17-5 if... is a direct shot at JB’s knowledge and ability to develop and coach players. You’re damn right he’s going to react negatively to anyone prognosticating this alternate reality - the man has pride (and a hall of fame membership).

By the way, I believe he said he didn’t read the tweet, but it was read, quoted or translated to him by his son. If he didn’t actually read it, is it possible that, even as bad as the actual tweet was, it was exaggerated a bit in the translation? Something like: “MG says we’d be undefeated if you played Kadary and Jesse more”. I might have done that to my dad if I was 20 just to mess with him a little.

I can’t defend the shot at someone’s height - it was unnecessary, but JB is who he is. Btw, after the translation, I picture him like:

He just couldn’t let it go.
Clint will always get a like.

This stuff was nauseating when we were good.

The only defense of JB is the reporter couldn't have been more accurate.

The ACC was down big time this year and we had a lot of returning experience and good newcomers better than the crap that transfered out and JB blew it with his boneheaded 6 man rotation.
A wasted season, JB acts petulant when he knows he's wrong. He doesn't have many seasons left and he blew this one by not utilizing 2 good players, so he gets mad when he hears somebody criticize him and the criticism is warranted

I thought it was funny but what do I know.

Apparently not what funny is .. it wasn’t said as a joke ... it was said in an attempt to claim the reporters opinion on basketball is limited by his height .. its funny that JB thinks that way .. I’ll give you that

It's a game the Syracuse media runs on Boeheim and the program to have a guy who's sole job is to assail the program. I never see this happen at Duke, UK, UNC, KU etcetera. People in positions of power in those communities have enough sense to see that having a successful program is a positive for their region and state. I find it insidious and repugnant.
Local Kentucky newspaper had a story that helped put them on probation a few years back. The truth is the truth. It's not their job to be cheerleaders. That is your job.

Then “we” don’t want coaches to be candid and honest.
I want the coach of Syracuse to put the team in the position to recruit and win. I don’t see where this type of “candidness and honesty” helps that goal.

If we were routinely snagging 5 star recruits and getting top seeds in the tournament, like we were about 10 years ago, no one would care about comments like this. That’s not where we are now.

If the Kentucky media truly exposed the skeletons in their program's closet, it would get more than a slap on the wrist.

Not necessarily. The media doesn't decide the penalty. Everyone thought UNC was dead to rights but we know how that turned out.

True. The NCAA decides the penalties and if your one of their marquee programs that bring in the money and run the NCAA, you get kid glove treatment.

LOL Try being candid and honest all the time and see where that gets you. When a woman asks you do I look fat in this? Or your boss comes up with an idea that you think is really dumb. JB isn't always candid and honest. He is a bully and is rude. There is a difference.

First, you have no idea what Kentucky does or doesn't do. Second, the penalties to Kentucky were pretty harsh. They were fortunate that they hired one of the games greatest coaches and they were able to overcome the penalties quicker than most would have.

Your in denial or completely naive if you can't see what the "elite" teams employ as their SOP. The press their was probably told to run that story to get Tubby out.

Jb has not forgotten what the local media has done to him and his program. Bigtime college programs and coaches dont get treated like this in other towns kentucky basketball alabama football etc.

Trump won the popular vote by 10 million as well.

If you think journalists work like this you are naive. They aren’t the best reporters.
