Maybe 10 years ago I was on a road trip passing through the smoky mountains. They're gorgeous. I had to stop for fuel and was surprised to see the gas station had a 50s style diner instead of a convenience store so I went in and ate at the counter. They had hot wings, and they were real ones that came with blue cheese. They weren't busy and I ended up chatting with one of the line cooks about Vols football. He recognized the cuse hat I was wearing and said something or other about Jim Boeheim, but knew we had a real football team too.

Not an amazing story or anything, but that sort of road trip is sooo much nicer than truck stop hot dogs between endless cornfields when you're driving through Ohio. That's what I like about Tennessee.

i was at the game with the bailout faux pass interference call. since then...diddley squat .
"blackened my eye and kicked my dog." did meet up with some VOL fans at PHOEBES post game and they were all cool. so i guess i like the fans but hate phil fullmer , the whole program and the orange rock.

I remember an old internet joke about Tennessee football fans.

Why do Tennesseans always wear orange?

They wear orange on Saturday for the Vols football game. And on Sunday to go hunting. And then on Monday through Friday when picking up trash on the side of the highway.
