What does success look like vs. Clemson?

Having enough healthy bodies to finish the season without having to play Ironman football.

not having their punter taking QB snaps at the end would be nice. Little things - no injuries obviously, forcing their starting O to punt, scoring off their first team D. Not being behind the spread at halftime.

- stay healthy
- be disciplined (no stupid penalties, don't beat ourselves)
- good special teams
- be feisty for a quarter or so

The first first down, and we’ll take it from there.

If we don’t give up an Etienne 80 yd TD run untouched on the first play of the game, I think we can consider this game a success.

The odds are probably 50/50 and the only reason they are 50/50 because if they pass it will be an 80 yard pass play. I would be shocked if they don't score on the first play of the game. I wonder what odds you could get on first offensive play is a TD? 20-1? I would bet it for sure

Cooney having a great day with some 50-60 yard bombs

Much like last year, I would sell out to stop Etienne. Show Lawrence that we're going one on one and just take your lumps that way.

Lets the corners know how much work they have to do, but maybe gives the run D just a shred of confidence going forward.

That said, we'll probably play 9 in the box, and Etienne will have 200 yards by halftime.

It's funny because Lawrence had 350+ yards and 5 touchdowns in a half last game.

I was going to say my remote being in one piece at the end. But I only get that worked up when I actually expect success

I like it. I’d put a couple of sawbucks on that.

Hopefully, Linton and Thompson are healing and good to go. We’ve barely seen Linton’s potential. Losing Cisco is such a blow to the defense in so many ways, including his leadership and his size and strength, Our young DBs will be giving up 25 to 35 pounds to Clemson’s RBs and WRs. We need tremendous efforts from Trill and Iffy.
I‘ll measure our success, not by the score, but by the fight in the dog. Chris Elmore doesn’t care what the line says. He is going to compete. Anxious to see how many more of our guys bring that attitude.
For the first time this season, players’ families can attend. Hopefully, that, too, lights some fires.
It will also be interesting to see how our veteran guys, Black, Kingsley, McKinley, Trill, Iffy, Servais, Hackett, Nykeim, Taj, Etc., measure up. If you aspire to play in the NFL, you have to prove you belong in a game against Clemson, even if, this season, with so many injuries and defections, your team does not.

Disagree. With the change in touchback rules and strength of Cooney's kick offs, the odds are good Clemson will start at their own 25. We are likely only talking about a 75 yard play.

Not tripping over the goal line as they run onto the field.

If anybody tries to supplex like you like Boulware, we fight. That would be the only potential “victory” I can see.

Dammit , im not going to take all of these negative Nellie reactions. Im going to throw out old Clichés and coach quotes , and other famous quotes like nobodies business

We play to the win the game hello Cuse 28 to 24
Remember Rudy , Cuse 28-24
Im throwing my cards on the table and going all in, This team is going to beat Clemson per me and Jim fassel.
We are going to storm the end zone like the greatest generation stormed the beaches at Normandy we are going to take out lumps but in the end Cuse 28-24.

As Beavis and Butthead would say , were going score and the final will be 28-24

In the words of Joe Willie , I guarantee a win on Saturday

In the word of Eric Cartman- Screw you guys, we are going home back to cuse with a 28-24 win

like Jimmy MCGinty said at halftime of the championships game in the replacements when asked what they needed to win, "you need heart" and Cuse wins 28-24

and last but not least when Bill Murray gave his inspiring we are 10 and 1 speech in stripes , he brought a ragtag group of the the least talented platoons on post from not graduating to being the lead the amazing UAV team. I say this team will run on the field giving it the old Boom chakalaka chant to throw everyone off then perform so flawlessly on the field that even Dabo Sweeney will say thats just the type of go getters you need to rebuild a team after Syracuse beat Clemson 28-24,

And even when i wake up after i realized i posted this bold prediction i will stick to my guns. Because hey on any Given Saturday

thats my story and im sticking to it
