Did we put monkeys in space? I thought that was just the USSR.What does it say that this country of ours put monkeys in space but never a Cemson grad?

I think that Clemson has done a very good job raising their academic profile. But then again, look at UNC's and what that means for its athletes.Wow. We are tied with Clemson. That's unacceptable. What is happening academically up on the Hill? We used to compete with BC/USC/Wake, etc. (Those were the other schools accepting me 25 years ago.) Sorry Clemson fans - I'm being a little douchey here. You have a fine university and a great football team. Just very surprised that my alma mater has slid so far. Haven't really followed the rankings.
Wow. I know you guys think that Syracuse is a great academic institution and all that but why rip Clemson. We are trying to elevate our academic profile and I happen to think its pretty good. You may think Syracuse is a better school and that's fine but to say Clemson is on level with Ole Miss is just ridiculous. The proof is in the pudding. I've met SU alums all over the place in NASA, we have 3 or 4 others on this board alone. I work with a couple - the guy in the office next to mine went to SU.
I've met hundreds of people around NASA. Never met a Clemson grad.
I don't care about any rankings, the respect for Clemson as an institution of higher learning is somewhere around Ole Miss.
#phins4evaThere is a Le Moyne grad at NASA though! Actually 2 I believe.
Stay classy. Do you get to eat in the same cafeteria as the MIT grads? If so, what are really smart people like in person? The proof is in the pudding. There are a lot of places that will prepare him -- math is math, etc. -- Syracuse included. People with drive find a way -- former NASA Administrator (and Maxwell School graduate) Sean O'Keefe got his undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans, an institution which I'd bet you've never heard of (and whose 2010 acceptance rate is seven points higher (i.e., it's less selective) than Clemson's).So, here's a question. I have a 5 year old son. I want him to do well in life. My degree has served me well. My dad is a '62 SU grad as well. It's not Harvard or Stanford, but I have always been proud of the degree. I'd love to have my boy be a 3rd generation graduate. Is my emotion for the school getting in the way of an objective view? Do I want him to go to Syracuse - in order to best prepare him for life? (Hopefully, this won't be a question in 12 years - and the University is back on the right side of the curve.)
Have you been to South Carolina? Being a government employee I am sure you have ample vacation time, next year may I suggest...They're like me, but with less respect for public universities in the crappy Carolina.
