What if someone sued the ACC officiating team

The only way way you could win a case like that would be to prove intent. Incompetence is not a crime.

Idk. People with bank roll could do damage and upend the system

I’m sick of this debate about poor officiating. It is what it is. It’s obviously BS but the ACC makes more money and gets more publicity when FSU is winning. Not when Syracuse is winning. They will always get the benefit. You’re the red headed step child. You have to play above it but this team lacks the talent, coaching and discipline to do that.

I'm actually contacting a cousin of mine who graduated duke law about this, tonight.

It's ridiculous and if no one does anything it will continue

Laugh all you want. He's a grad of Georgia and Duke Law tops in his class

How exactly do
You get above it when the officiating continues to keep you down?

It’s not an objective position and really not worth your time trying to understand it.

how would they know?

Pretty sure this was tried by Saints fans in that infamous Rams game. A tad bigger game that this one

You can’t sue to alter the outcome of a game based on a missed/poor/biased call from an official. Courts have ruled that officiating, good or bad, is simply part of the game.

However, that’s different than SU raising hell over the consistent, obvious, almost unethical behavior by the ACC refs against Syracuse. That’s a different issue which would require a different strategy.

It should start by SU filing grievances with the ACC over the consistently bad officiating, almost always going against SU. Demand a full investigation. Raise hell. It would piss off the ACC officials, but they would know they are being watched, which may alter their behavior to SU’s benefit, or at least getting balanced officiating.

If these refs are continually allowed to be blatantly biased against SU we will always be the victim. We need to stand up and raise hell.

This feels like an Onion article.

"Fans of every sports team in the history of Planet Earth convinced widespread officiating conspiracy exists against their favorite team."

It was a missed holding call. It totally sucked. It's part of sports.

There were quite a few other controversial calls and non-calls, all going in FSU’s favor. You expect those calls to break 50/50 for both teams. That wasn’t the case today. It hasn’t been the case when we play ACC conference games.

Bias is a real thing. It’s okay to understand that SU is the outsider, northerner school that joined the ACC more recently. It’s okay to understand we’re not a chosen school by the ACC. Bias is out there against us. It is real. What we decide to do about it is another thing.

Unfortunately this is the truth. We see it with virtually all of our institutions. Being a completely incompetent knucklehead is not sufficient for a hanging.
