What kind of season do we have if we had beaten Texas and TTech?

Both came down to the wire. Have to wonder if we won those and with Freeman and JJ all yr, we talking tournament?

Confused The Office GIF

What would our season have been like had we lost to LeMoyne, Colgate and Youngstown State?

Cuz we were closer to losing all of those games than we were to winning vs Texas and Texas Tech.
No different than it was lol

Really?
Digging really deep... after winning those 2, not having anyone get hurt, have everything go our way and not having to deal with any adversity at all whatsoever... potentially the team has some more confidence and plays harder to win some more games...

If thats what it was gonna take for us to be a Tournament team...Ill pass.

The best teams overcome adversity, good teams win without their good players due to injuries, good teams win those down to wire games, struggling teams lose those and barely beat crappy teams & dont deserve to be "talking tournament"

Look, I think Red is terrible, and can’t coach his way out of a box. But, had we won those and stay healthy, I think we are close to if not a tourney team
What if we beat Duke?

This is a ridiculous exercise. We lost those games because we weren’t good enough to win. And we proved that by losing a ton of games after them.

Maybe if we beat Texas, Texas Tech, Pitt twice, Miami, at ND, Stanford and Wake we would be on the outside of the bubble. Would still need to have maybe beaten UNC and Clemson. We stunk, we were awful, we were not a good team, we were not a talented team and we were coached by one of the worst D1 coaches. 14-19 is what we deserved and what we got

im with you i think that wouldve changed the narrative

the players lost confidence at some point even though they did keep fighting for red...the inner belif wasnt really there and thats why they lost so many games in which they had 2nd half leads

by january...they knew they were only playing for the acct...which def dampens things

i think donnie comes back too...which def changes the season...i think they get to 19 or 20 wins overal, minimum...if they had those 2

(then again, I think other coaches make halftime adjustments and red doesnt...so there;s also that)

Not even close in my opinion. We would have had to have won about 8 more acc games.

This was the funniest thing I've read on this board all season. I just can't stop laughing.

As bad as a season it has been, there has been some funny stuff posted on this board.

well done

Wouldn’t have mattered without a G-town W.
That’s the game

As for Texas…the Orange lost because of missed free throws along with weak D and poor shot selection down the stretch.
Sound familiar?

Are you saying those two wins would've given us momentum to win a bunch more? Those two by themselves don't move the needle. Have you seen how few teams the ACC is getting this year?

If we win those games and had Donnie and JJ we would have had a better year, yes.

But we were far away from making the NCAAT and this team wasn’t lighting it up when they were all healthy.

Again, it wouldn’t have mattered because, imo, Red is currently in over his head, but early in the season, Eddie couldn’t walk without limping and was working on his back and legs during TOs.

I was at the Texas game. Eddie was playing through a lot of pain. Now, it’s not like he came here in great shape, but we had a hobbled Eddie for a while this year.

But with all that said, we weren’t close and wouldn’t have been close to making it.

I’ll say it again, I don’t think there is enough fear that we’re much closer to this year being our reality than being back in the NCAAT as like a top 6 seed.

Players get hurt. We’ll have misses in the portal. Young guys won’t be ready to be relied upon as a whole.

If the University was looking at the reality of the last ten years. They would have realized the program has been blown up by JB and the highering of Red, and started over.

Texas Tech has the 6th best offense in the country per KP.
They had a mediocre shooting night.
What if they had actually shot well against the 2nd worst P5 defence in the country?
