He's not good enough to play at Duke, Doesn't fit Bamas style, and clearly we don't want him. I would say Siena out of those choices.

Doty is playing at the right level. He’s not an ACC caliber starting guard. He’s tough, but he’s not a great shooter. The stuff he gets away at this level will not happen in a power four conference. He’s might be a role player with some time coming off the bench. He’s is fun to watch. He might be the best rebounding guard I’ve seen. He just goes and gets the ball. Remember how effective Kiyan was playing against smaller schools. I think Doty might struggle against big, physical, athletic guards. Power four schools are loaded with these kind of guards, except at SU.

Watched him agains Merrimack last night (they play zone 100% of the time ). They locked up Doty. As someone mentioned, this is a correct level for him.

Similar player to Derkak from Merrimack, got payday and transferred to Rutgers where he struggled. Moved to Akron this year and is coming off the bench. If he was really good, he would be at a P4 school as a freshman.

Perhaps as a senior Doty moves up, but at present he is not a P4 starter

im not sure they locked him up. he scored 22 pts on 50% shooting and was 9/9 from the ft line.

After seeing him play in person this is a very accurate assessment

Doty did have 16, 6 and 2 steals against Indiana so I think he’d be fine at least in the A10. He also had 25, 8 and 4 against the Bonnies and leads the MAAC in win shares. Some of you are vastly underselling him.
He’s doing it the right way and becoming a very common path. I can for sure see him work his way up to the Power Conferences as a senior. I totally can see that being dependent on how he performs at the high mid major level.

Doty turned down offers that were considerably larger than what he is getting from Siena. He loves GMac and the staff. He hasn’t spent a dime of the his NIL yet. I wouldn’t be shocked if he stays with Gerry wherever that may end up being.
someone last year asked him about the portal and he said he was playing wherever gmac was. or something like that.

Doty had 22 on 6-12 shooting. Not sure that's locking him up.

If he’s not an ACC caliber player, he should fit right in with our core

He will probably stay with gmac. I know the families dream scenario and what he'd like to happen...Lots of people on here would lose their marbles if that happened though.

For point of reference, the 1st-team All-MAAC players for 2024-25 are currently at:
Col. State
Seton Hall
Fordham
Quinnipiac
St. Louis

The guy at SHU seems to be having the best season (approx. 13 ppg) from first glance.

And how do you “lock someone up” playing a zone?
Good question for JB. When we were good, we did it sometimes. The follow up question would then be, "How does someone nobody's ever heard of torch us." Then prepare for the tongue lashing.

If Gerry stays with Siena, Doty will stay at Siena.
And his Nil will continue to be paid by Weitsman.
Say what you want, Adam does appear loyal to his friends.
