Who else is re-watching the second half

Richmond gets a lot of deflexions that I don’t think he’s getting credit for the steals he had two or three on back to back possessions that led to the three’s by buddy at the end of the clock and the one three pointer by Quincy! his defense is incredible!

They were passing the ball easily in the first half. Second half was much harder.

Outside of the win two things stood out to me regarding the game. Both starters that were sitting (Allan Griffin and Joe Girard) were happy as clams we were back in the game during the Time Out where Buddy hit the open 3 to take the lead. Proves that this is a TEAM WIN all around. Another was the press. When we had Robert Braswell in, he was the last man a a number of times. Marek was playing midcourt. That adds a huge amout of lentht in the middle thus forcing ND to only try to go down the sidelines. Great tweak on the Full Court Press by our Coach. We could not do that with AG as he does not have the lenght at Mid Court. Like that wrinkle.

I will tomorrow too intoxicated right Now due to the first half.

Arguably it was Braswell's finest game in Orange. He truly looked like he belonged.

You’re absolutely correct that during the comeback, the entire bench was engaged and cheering on their teammates (even though in the game thread there was some shade thrown Joe’s way, suggesting he wasn’t cheering b/c he wasn’t playing). That was awesome to see.

But I think you’re wrong with your observation that Braswell was playing the very back of the press. We pretty much ran our standard 1-2-1-1 press, with Q at the head (pressuring the inbounds passer), Buddy and Braswell guarding/trapping the first pass in the corner, Kadary sort of playing a ‘free safety’ position at or around midcourt, and Marek was the ‘last man’ guy. Braswell did not ever play the very back/last man spot of the press yesterday.

(Note: I propose that the ‘last man’ position be re-named the ‘Jeremy McNeil’ position, out of respect for probably the best guy ever to play that spot for SU.)

You know oddly enough the lack of fans almost made it seem pedestrian and ND treated it as such too.
Well our fans normally leave the building down 20 anyway, so...

I was going to watch the entire game so I could laugh at the announcers during the 1st half. I seem to remember them using the old line "the 1st 5 minutes is critical for Syracuse if they want to get back in this game". That's what they get for using cliches!

Alas my wife is home and I don't want to explain my childish glee.

It was a fast quick run almost Virginia eske just earlier
Yep, I just watched the second half again. Many things stand out in the 2nd half but one in particular was the ball movement on offense. In the first half, it was play after play where guys were just trying to do it on their own. The second half was team ball which led to so many good looks. Just an amazing win!
