Why can’t we be Marquette?

I guess that's your opinion. I'll take our final fours. People still seem to notice our brand and have a certain level of respect for the basketball program. We're still invited to prestigious preseason tournaments and can be found all over national TV. You're right FAU cannot say any of this.

They never interrupt a current game to go to a different game no matter who is playing. You have an argument but that's ridiculous reasoning.

No, it’s not because of a current game, was originally on espn2 but got bumped for the Pitt game so we went to ESPNU, but is now on news because of the current game.

Fair enough. That one went over my head. Been a long couple weeks.

I don’t think Marquette are a team of all sophomores like us?

We’re in an odd spot as a team and program since I’m not sure it’s a lock these guys would be awesome if we kept them around 2 years from now as seniors but that might be the case.

We should know what we have after LSU and UVA.

Nope. The bracket before the tournament started showed the 7/8 game on the U.

Marquette hired an experienced head coach that has had some success. He had his own style of play and knew the types of players he wanted in his program. Syracuse hired an assistant coach with no head coaching experience and hoped for the best. In my opinion, a blue blood like Syracuse should always hire a proven head coach. Why take the risk by hiring an assistant coach when you don’t have to?

Track record. The bball coach they hired before this one was an untested assistant.

I don’t disagree that there are concerns. Some of us were advocating for an experienced coach like Shaka in the years before JB retired. But lots of programs have hired assistants and did really well. JB himself had no head coaching experience! Look at Arizona and Tommy Lloyd. That’s a recent example. And Izzo at Michigan State. Painter had only been a head coach for like one year before going back to Purdue where he’d be an assistant. Micah Shrewsberry did well at Penn State after only being an assistant. He’s a guy I would have loved to see us hire. We gotta give Red some time before giving up. If it doesn’t work out, we need to drop serious money on a proven up and comer like Dusty May.

It’s not like they have better resources or more money than we do. Shaka Smart is a hell of a coach.
Luck plays a major part on sports. Otherwise, Texas, UCLA and Florida (and sometimes other state flagship universities next in line like Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Georgia, UNC, Berkeley, Buffalo, Rutgers, Oregon and Washington) will be always the champion on all college sports.
