This is a fair point. The northeastern US is a great sports region...for pro sports. Celtics - 76ers...Sox Yankees. Giants Eagles. NY, Boston, PHI, DC...great PRO sports towns. Probably the best in the country. There are some great rivalries that evoke passion. But in the south, the college rivalries are where that passion lies. I mean they still have pro sports of course, but push comes to shove I think (TexanMark can check me on this) that many truly live and die with the state U even if they didnt go there. That's just not really a thing in the northeast.We are a primarily a liberal private college in a liberal city in a liberal state...filled with students from the BOS-WAS who grew up pro fans if at all. We will never be like a large state school in a Red State with fan fervor.
